Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() From the bulletins I've seen and read, the major concern is that this idiot will paint himself into a corner and have to do SOMETHING in order to have any hope of credibility with his military. I think his capabilities are very limited, but he's young and inexperienced in this game, so who knows? |

Sadly, it will probably work. :-/ I always wonder why they do that. I say we call their bluff, and when he does something stupid, we hit them hard. I know that's not the politically smart move, but at some point enough is enough. Of course, a war is going to cost much more (in lives and money) than we will send in our tax dollars, so goes the merry go round, and where it stops nobody knows. Besides, the big bully would try to pull in China and Russia. Which leads to another question, would the Chinese or Russians really back the crazy dude in today's world? |

I feel sorry for the countries that are within reach of his bombs. Thing is, he won't use them on those countries. China would just turn NK into dust and if you look at the history of Japan towards the Chinese and Koreans during war time you see why it's not such a hot idea to launch anything at them. South Korea they would rather reconcile with and move all the resources to NK and "share" the wealth of the Koreas. But the US will rebuild all of NK and will give the people food and clothing etc if he annoys us. So, we get threatened with nukes and videos like this published in NK about what American life is all about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7Kq78G2nxAPardon me I've got some birds left over from Tuesday to eat with my snow. OH MY GOD. That video! That was really something else. I'm not sure they would WANT America to rebuild them after seeing that. Laughable. Is the purpose of that nonsense to make the Korean people not want to visit America? It almost seems like they're trying to make the N Koreans feel sorry for us! What with our snow and our dead friends in blue bags and our lack of uneaten birds. ------------- EDITED TO ADD: I went back and read the rest of this thread and noticed that the ACTUAL translation is above. Not nearly as sensational and funny. Edited by Whizzzzz 2013-04-04 2:33 PM |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think is pretty obvious that NK cannot continue in the direction that it is going in for too much longer. I hate saying this but, I can't imagine a path to regime change in NK without the death of millions of people. What's that axiom for family business where the percentage of family businesses fail with the 3rd generation is enormous?....Well NK is in generation #3.

I was very upset that what he said, wasn't what the lady was sayinng. Don't see why. That's like getting mad at Weird Al for putting out another album. Ha! I was "upset" simply because it was fake... when I thought it was real. I was DYING LAUGHING when I thought it was real! Yes, still funny... but not the same when it is meant to be a joke. Ya know? So yes, it is a real guy, but what he's saying the lady is saying is all a joke. I read it after MSN posted the link to the video a couple of weeks back. I was very upset that what he said, wasn't what the lady was sayinng. Here's the "offical" translation: Published on Mar 1, 2013 Here is a rough translation: "In capitalist societies of America and Europe, the extreme gap between the rich and the poor, racism, chaos and disorder proliferate, leaving the workers in starvation, poverty, anxiety and fear. Amid snowstorms, the number of homeless people are increasing in the Western countries. Numerous Americans who lost their homes from Hurricane Sandy are still without homes, shivering in the cold for more than three months. Although American government promised to reconstruct the homes before the election, it no longer cares after the election is over. In Wisconsin, although the temperature is below negative 10 Celsius, many homeless people roam the streets, some of whom became homeless recently because they could not afford the soaring rent. America currently has more than 1.5 million homeless children. The situation is also very grave in Europe, which is also hit by severe cold. In Bucharest, Romania, the homeless people line up early in the morning to receive just a piece of bread from charities. The 5,000 homeless people of Bucharest survive by rummaging through the trash. All of them say that during the socialist times, there was no one who was without a home. More than 300 die from the cold and related illness every winter. The same is true in Budapest, Hungary. The homeless shelters are so full that many have to resort to cardboard boxes and ragged blankets. Although the homeless lie exposed in front of tourists, the government cannot do anything. Hundreds of homeless people roam the public spaces of Budapest. The government built two new shelters in Budapest, but they are not nearly enough to house the rapidly increasing homeless population. The foreign press say that although Western countries speak of welfare programs and civilization, the wealth gap, inequality and the nation's apathy toward the social weak are incurable diseases of capitalism. Social anxiety and fear are peaking in America as mass murders with guns are occurring rampantly since the new year. [Lists off Sandy Hook, Aurora, shooting in a high school in California, a community college in Missouri, a 15-year-old boy in New Mexico killing his five family members.] Although the criminals are diverse in age, occupation, gender, etc., they are uniformly a product of America's inequality and other social ills. The American public's demand of gun control is louder than ever, but the NRA and weapons manufacturers bribe and pressure the key governmental officials from responding to the public demand. After President Obama announced a new gun control law, the protests for and against the new law are sweeping across America. Experts say that even if the guns are controlled, crimes will not stop unless America's extreme inequality, variety of social ills and the American system itself are changed completely." - translation by NKNews Ah, thanks! Still pretty silly stuff. |

![]() KSH - 2013-04-04 5:01 PM Ah, thanks! Still pretty silly stuff. You should have heard what was coming over Radio Free Baghdad in '91. "American servicemen in the Gulf - did you know while you were here waging war on peace loving Iraqis your wives are home sleeping with movie stars. Arab servicemen scraping to the tune of the infidels..." We loved tuning into Baghdad Betty. One of the rumors was she said Bart Simpson. I didn't hear that, I heard the movie stars part, though. This one is amateurish compared to some I've heard. Listen to some of Nicolae Ceau?escu's stuff or get hold of some of the older Soviet stuff about what American life is like. |

![]() | ![]() DanielG - 2013-04-04 10:41 AMOh, we did side with S Korea 60ish years ago and he's still pissed about that. Point of order. The North invaded the South in 1950. When the Americans got there, they rolled the north back to the brink. (Most of these troops were still part of the occupation force on Japan). Then under cover of a cease fire in 1952, 2 million Chinese troops attacked south in November. It was the coldest war ever fought with temps of -47 degrees. Marines at the Chosin Reservoir stacked dead bodies like cord wood to block the wind and snow drifts. The Americans and some British forces fought the Chinese to a stand still and eventually drew official cease fire lines at the 38th parallel where both sides put up minefields, fences, etc and that has divided the country ever since. North and south have actually been divided a number of times throughout history by the different empires, by the Japanese, Russians, and then by the UN. |
