Hmm...

The Collegiate group is different than the age groups...correct? If that's the case it'd be great to see a decent athlete in the W18-24 group to do really well.

Regarding spectator speculation... just to give a personal example:

Tom and I combined will have: 4 parents and a group of 4-6 friends. And we don't even have children to add into the mix.

I concur with Bripod's assessment of geographical distribution. My parents live in Kansas, Tom's parents are coming from Colorado, and some friends' parents are also coming from Colorado. Neighboring states are easier to travel from.

The field (in brief):

M25-29 99 (8%)
M30-34 112 (9%; includes Craig Alexander)
M35-39 224 (19%)
M40-45 168 (14%)
Total Men ~855 (73%)
Total ALL ~1175

Craig Alexander? He sounds beatable. Who is he?

The over/under on my AG finish, out of 112, is ... 106.

Who's in on this?

Alexander won the IM 70.3 Championship in 2006 and on the contrary is not "beatable".

I will take the unders

Ima smoke him. I'll take the overs, but thanks.

I'll have the missus, the in-laws and possibly the sis-in-law and her boyfriend. Mom can't make it as she won't be willing to sit in the sun that long.

Even worse, MRS2Tony won't let me rent the boat for the day.

To anyone competing for a Clearwater slot- you need to fork over almost $300 as a check or cash at around 1:00 on race day if you qualify, to gaurantee your position. At least, that's how it was at Steelhead last year. If you don't want hills, Clearwater is perfect- flat as a pancake!

If you don't like hills sell off your slot in IMKS now.

Slots for Clearwater will be the same way at this race. If someone dosen't take it and pay for it when they get it, it will go to the next qualifier.

Hey what's the story on the BT get-together carbo-load dinner? We can do either Friday or Saturday night, just want a heads up so we can let the relatives that we're staying with know.

Kind of a spicy chipotle seasoning thing going on there?

Seriously, man, good luck. I'll be thinking of you when I'm in T2 and you're finishing.

However. What about meeting up at the Expo or bike drop off? We all have to do that at some point.

I think a late lunch Saturday would be cool. I'm guessing most people traveling from out of town will be arriving sometime before Saturday afternoon so most everyone should be able to be there.

Right, I'll be hoping for that off chance that a lot of people fall out from the hills, those that finish forget a checkbook, and that I'll be having an amazing day.

There are only 70+ signed up for that age group, that's why they were not included. Sorry, no offense.
