Um, what is your history on the Eagleman run course (or should we call it the Eagleman walk course in your case )?  Bike time means nothing if you don't back it up on the run (just like I know a great swim time doesn't mean so much when everyone passes you on the bike). 

I don't think the Eagleman swim course was ever noticeably short- if anything, it may have been long in 06.  My swim times for the last two years were slow for me.

Well, when I did my 4:55 I certainly wasn't walking on the run ........

And I doubt my wife will let me show up ANYWHERE in a banana hammock ....... I have the get out of jail free card with that one!

That's what happens when you are a bad azz but have "all or nothing" results.  It's either moments of glory or debilitating pain.  There is no middle ground ..... go until you're spent, or don't go at all!!

I'm working on it.  No Boston plans or spring marathon training to make excuses not to ride this time!

(And I know your tactics ..... make me bust my azz to train, but get burned out or injured so you can easily walk all over me!)

I've never tried this tactic.  Seriously.  I bet if I did I'd whoop all your a$$es.    4:3X at Eagleman, eh, easy.    

I bet you could probably go 4:2x if you really tried.  :-)

But it's his competitive side that gets him into trouble 

And I have got to get my shoulder back to full strength so I don't get beat out of the water by Rick, as I would hear about that one...

Considering I start about 6 waves ahead of you, if I'm not out of the water first it will definitely be time to switch to all duathlons!!!

You'll take one look and wonder why is this “Mike” guy not suited up as a middle linebacker... I have been considering making the switch over to MMA or maybe even professional glutton.

I have hot pink boxing gloves you're welcome to borrow should you seriously decide to pursue MMA.  That will bring out the fighta in you!  btw....we kinda dig our linebackers in this town.

With all this smack talk and friendly banter to help motivate one another, imagine this scenario -- you're halfway through the Eagleman bike course and about to pass one of your BT rivals standing on the side of the road holding a flat wheel, a 'la Chrissie Wellington, they've flatted and are in need of a CO2. 

Do you throw them a cartridge - Yes or No?

I stop and help them as much as allowed.

There is a time and a place ..........

I'm in for Eagleman, but I am also a slow pocker, so don't expect me to pass you all! Well, maybe on the swim.

And for the other question, we are Triathletes and not Roadie, so yes, I do pass on a CO2 cartridge to my fellow BT'er!

So, you'll be in the back with me!  We should start BOP smack-talking, like who is most likely to come in last.  :-)

No one is going to touch me in the "lifeguards thought he was drowning but that's really just how he swims" BT award.  Nobody I say!  All seriousness, this will be my first hIM, so I'm really excited / nervous.

I will be starting my official HIM training plan next week.  For the past couple of months, I've been following a swim focus plan and am thrilled with my progress.  I have no doubts in my mind that I will finish the distance.  In fact, I'm starting to think of time goals for the swim, instead of just finishing in 1:10.

How is the training going for all of you?
