Subject: RE: What's your indulgence?Hawkeye - 2005-04-19 5:01 PM I'm with you on the steak thing but the pizza is something different. Chicago is known for it's deep dish pizza, not THEE PIZZA............FOOD FIGHT!!! What's the difference? On the East Coast you get some flimsy, doughy, crud with tomato snot and cheese. Whoopity do! I'm talking about a golden crisp crust stuffed with cheese and smothered in fresh stuff just from the garden topped with MORE CHEESE! It's so dang good, they make you wait 45 minutes for one! How can you even THINK that you compare?! Pshaawwww... that's pizza for mere mortals. My homemade pizza has a thin, crispy dough with just enough glutin to yield a satisfying chew... topped with olive oil, thinly sliced fresh tomatoes, artichoke, sicilian olives (NOT manzanilla), mushrooms, fresh basil, oregano, and the freshest mozzarrella and parmigiano reggiano (don't even think about sprinking that off-the shelf sawdust stuff on my pizza) cheeses. With a light grinding of coarse sea salt over it just before I put it in the oven. Pizzagasm. Served with the coldest beer of your choice. Edited by Renee 2005-04-19 5:20 PM
