It is not my favorite indulgence, but since Krispy Kreme finally opened today in Shreveport, LA, I will say a Blueberry Cake Donut from Kripy Kreme.

My favorite indulgence?  Well, being a small-town raised Iowa boy it's one thing:

STEAK

A beautiful 16 oz., yes a whole pound, corn-fed, Black Angus ribeye with the fat just marbled all the way through, cooked rare, i.e. barely cooked at all with a cool center.  No potatoes, thanks, just the steamed vegetables and dry Cabernet with something chocolate for desert.

Okay, now I know what my post-race evening meal is going to be.  I can hold off until April 30th, really I can.

Oh, and by the way, Chicago deep-dish pizza is the ONLY kind of pizza.  I gotta get to Chi-town for my Giordano's fix SOON!

I'm with you on the steak thing but the pizza is something different. Chicago is known for it's deep dish pizza, not THEE PIZZA............FOOD FIGHT!!!

After a race it's sushi...as much of it as I can inhale. We go to Todai, all you can eat sushi, and I can down a good 20 pieces of sushi. It's the BEST post-race meal evah!

I'm with you on that! After my "hard" 10k a couple of weeks ago, I told my BF that he was taking me out to Sushi that night -- while I was still in the finish chute!

My favorite is the Unagi -- but I can only eat two because they're so rich.

MMM.. LOVE me some sushi! I have a hard time getting the wife to go eat it with me though..

Unagi = Sea Urchin..Right? Cause I'll eat lots of raw stuff.. but you WON'T find me eating that..

I hear you... there's a place here called "Frits Alors" that makes the best fries and has more than 10 mayo based dips.

What's the difference?  On the East Coast you get some flimsy, doughy, crud with tomato snot and cheese.  Whoopity do!

I'm talking about a golden crisp crust stuffed with cheese and smothered in fresh stuff just from the garden topped with MORE CHEESE!  It's so dang good, they make you wait 45 minutes for one!  How can you even THINK that you compare?!

Pshaawwww... that's pizza for mere mortals.

My homemade pizza has a thin, crispy dough with just enough glutin to yield a satisfying chew... topped with olive oil, thinly sliced fresh tomatoes, artichoke, sicilian olives (NOT manzanilla), mushrooms, fresh basil, oregano, and the freshest mozzarrella and parmigiano reggiano (don't even think about sprinking that off-the shelf sawdust stuff on my pizza) cheeses. With a light grinding of coarse sea salt over it just before I put it in the oven.

Pizzagasm. Served with the coldest beer of your choice.

Naw, Unagi is eel with a sweet teriyaki type sauce (cooked). Mmmmm....

Uni is the sea urchin.

I love salmon, raw, slap me in the face salmon.

My big fear is that I won't be able to find ENOUGH sushi after the Vancouver Marathon. Fortunately Vancouver has lots of sushi places...but I'll break the bank.

No way chocolate gu is your endulgence! For me, I have to pretend it's a tequila shot: back of the throat, swallow fast! Maybe if there were chocolate gu body shots I would like it more?

Mountain Dew.  When I get really dehydrated, this is what I CRAVE!
