Thanks for the suggestions guys! Not really sure what we want to do yet... thought about going to the Cowboys game if we can find tix. But other than that we are always up for a few drinks at a fun/unique place. We're young(ish!) - 25 and 30 years old but enjoy most crowds. Love live music so we may hit up House of Blues... OOH and we could always use a recommendation for a good Mexican joint. It's our pre-race (and usually post race as well) meal tradition.
You should try Mercado Juarez... It is on NW Highway and 35 area. Not sure on the address. Good mexican food, Good Tortillas, and Good Margaritas. |

I did get on at the Parker station so got a seat. It was standing room only by the third stop. Taking it back worked out well also. There was not a huge crowd and again got a seat for the ride back. I am signed up for the Half at WR. |

Weather forecast keeps changing! I'm seeing highs in the 60s (63, 65 and 68) right now but we are still 5 days out. Weather.com says low of 51 degrees so it will be cool but not cold (OK maybe cold for Texans  ) for the start.I'll probably do capri-length tights and a sleeveless shirt with arm warmers so I can shed the arm warmers if I get too hot. |

Seems like this may me a little much, of course the weather could change...I will be in shorts and a tech shirt with arm warmers. I may also bring out a trash bag/long sleeve to ditch but my options may be limited since my pacer shirt needs to be seen. |

I guess you could sitck them in your pockets too if they aren't too bulky. |

I did Ironman Cozumel exactly two weeks from White Rock race day, and I am thinking that White Rock might be a good way to delay my recovery just a bit. However, I spoke with a coach at IM Cozumel that said a marathon 2-weeks out is actually more reasonable that delaying it to 6-weeks, when the body has entered deeper recover. I am thinking about testing this theory. Granted, I'm not looking for a PR ... just a slow and steady run. If you see a bald guy with an M-dot tat sitting on a curb at mile 21, reply with, "nice job, dumb a.." |

Let me just say that this is hit or miss. When Jonny ran this in 2007... I signed up for the text updates via phone. I got them all that night. HOURS after the race was over. So make sure your family knows when you expect to finish and all that. They should not completely rely on these updates. |
