I had a nice brick today...rode 16.2 miles and then a 30 minute run with a tri friend. A side goal for me is to swim from star island to the mainland while on vacation this summer. If I do that I'm setting up a second goal to go to the mainland and back again. I did it as a kid and I think it is about .75 miles each way. |

I love it! BTW, does your team even have a name yet? courtney_leone - 2005-07-01 3:20 PM joeinco - 2005-07-01 4:27 PM I give that name two thumbs WAY DOWN! Actually, the more I think about it, I kinda like Team Kim the Goddess. She is pretty cool, for a young punk. Egent - good luck with Team Couer De Lame over there... Yeah, I give Team Coeur De Lame two thumbs down, too. Too bad you're stuck with it... Oh, and at least you won't have to send me beer when you lose, but a case of root beer will work. Don't need a name - and just remember that a pack of hyenas will tear a lion apart, given half a chance. So, is Team Cork de Lame even going to train this month? Or are you ready to just concede right now? I'm thinking we should just be competing against YOUR team,. Each month, another team can step forward for their training smackdown, and we'll just reign supreme forever... Hmmmmm, How about Kim's Krackpots??? I think you're all a little nuts. Bu watch out for Lucky Lancers we're going for the yellow jersey. Team #7 and Lance going for #7. What else can I say???? |

I am all for some side betting. Mike Well, whaddya know...so am I! Why don't you back up all the talk and get something going? Courtney -- I am the wrong guy to push into a side bet. I am more than happy to put something on the line besides pride to challenge you and your team. You will get smoked. Mike |

Thanks Kathy..........My wife and I just finished another 1200 yard swim and three mile run. I have a feeling that my goals are a little low, considering that my race isn't for another two months. Maybe I should bump them up another 10% for good measure and we'll still win this thing. That is if the rest of the team gets on the stick and trains instead of talkin so much smack. I just love being the instigator! |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Team Helpmepickaname Blackbud...nice workout with your wife...does she do Tri's as well? It would be great to have spouse that is also a workout partner. Do you guys pace well together? I find it hard to find someone that is my speed to train with. What are you all doing today? I have run and swim intervals plus time talking with my coach. Yesterday I had my best open water swim ever...swam almost for an hour...went around the island we swim around 3 times (normally do it once) ...Memorial day took me 45 minutes(lots of stopping and working on feeling comfortable)...July 4th...did first two trips in just under 14 minutes. The power boats came as we were swimming back to the beach. We went back to hang out later in the day and there were about 9 boats on this tiny pond. Kim...do we officially have a name yet? |

Extreme Veteran 435 Aurora, CO | Subject: RE: Team Helpmepickaname Actually, my wife does do tris. We train together but we don't keep pace together. She isn't nearly as competative as I am, so I tend to push myself a lot more. She's more in it to stay in shape and have fun. Having just moved to the Denver area, we also hope to meet some new people in the process. |

I definitely want her to be on our team! Ok, Whizzer is on your team. Please let her know I will need a final tally of everyone's goals (PM them to me). It's easier for me to read single PM's from a Captain instead of hunting for goals (some scattered through a thread) in all 10 threads. THANKS! |

Obviously you seem threatened by us. Which you should be. Let's do the single elimination. That way we can shut you up when we kick your A$$. If you remember correctly, I'm on Kim's team: she is our leader, and my job is very much similar to George Hincapie's job with Lance. Kim gets the win, and I - the training domestique - get the warm fuzzy feeling of crushing your team and your little spirits. I don't need to think hard, I train hard. Of course, I peeked at your logs. I don't even have to train hard, apparently I just need to put on my running shoes and go to the mailbox... |

I made an executive decision and named us Team Hoss, because I wasn't going to have such an egotistical name and nothing else was rising to the top. If you guys really hate it, I suppose we can change it. Nice swim, too! That's a heck of an improvement! Very hoss, indeed!!! |
