White Lake Half (Page 3)

That was a real scorcher yesterday!!!!  I'm still feeling it today.....and will probably be feeling it for many more!

But i loved being in cabin #2 right at the finish bc adult beverages helps sooth the pain

Oh, FYI, the run is hot and boring. Actually, the ride is hot and boring. But the run is more boring. And hotter. Didn't slow you down though lvis!

Nice race Alan, I followed your progress on the Live Race link (Bib Number 67).  I thought that the heat would affect everyone.  I'm nursing some injuries and hope to be competing starting in July.

Was the swim this year wetsuit legal???

I found it interesting that wetsuits were allowed (I wore mine).  It was so close that they wouldn't announce an actual temperature.  Official word was that water temp was "just below 78".  That was the case for both the Half and the Sprint.

USAT rules state that competitors may wear wetsuits if the water temperature is 78 degrees or lower.

I talked to Benji, the prior day it was 76 in the am and 78 by 3pm. I figure since we had a cooler evening that the water temp would have dropped a few for race morning. 

Same for the sprint on Sunday - couldn't get anyone to give an official temp., but I talked to a guy (a competitor) who said that his wife measured it at 77 F with one of those IR devices.

Windier and choppier than for you guys, but at least we didn't have to deal with the heat!   Nice job all.

Because most people will choose one or the other, over 1900 in The Raleigh Half already

x2.  I agree....a very few will race WL Half and IM 70.3 Raleigh, IMHO. 

ETA: I would not be surprised if Set Up Events has a little something up their sleeve...........

Hmmm...would be nice if set up bumped White Lake HIM up to an earlier date.  That would allow more time between White Lake and the Raleigh 70.3, and hopefully cooler temps   I'm probably just dreaming though.
