I'll be there!

This will be my 3rd White Lake Half.  I have done the race as a full 70.3 and I did it last year when the swim was cancelled for fog.

Good Luck!!!

Any of you seasoned White Lake Half folks have any words of wisdom about the bike course?  Flat, windy, rough?  Thanks

Within the 1st 5 miles, beware of a few spots that will eject your rear hydration bottles out of their respectful holders. The back stretch can have some good cross wind at times. Be ready for some tar strip madness for the past portion of the ride.

X2 and what scottie and alan said. But also know that the bumps on the first 5 miles will rattle almost anything loose...i lost my aerodrink there a couple of years back. Other than that, pray for cool weather!

Rode the course today, the first couple of miles were a little rough along with about the last 5 or 6.  41 and 210 were very fast and smooth, not sure if they have repaved since last year but those two roads were in very good shape.  Much better than what we have in Brunswick County anyway.

I am now going to HAVE to go down there and at least drive the course because if you say 41 is fast and smooth then it must have been repaved since last year.  No way anyone would say 41 was smooth from the condition it was in last year.

As I said earlier it may be relative as I live in Brunswick County and compared to here it was smooth.  Coming out of the FFA center was good, the portion of White Lake Road was not so great and then a few parts of 53 coming back were a little rough.  Other than that I thought the course was pretty good and smooth.

I just found this:

Looks like the temp was 70 degrees on Saturday, April 21, 2012.

70 as of this weekend.  Cold week here will definately keep it wetsuit legal.

Setup normally posts water temps 2 or 3 days out from the race.

White Lake Watersports updates water temps on thier facebook page. Last Temp was 70deg on Saturday.  http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/White-Lake-Water-Sports-Marina/111696235532879
