You're asking the Manatees if you should do something that might be considered cheesee and tackee? I'd say that's a plus for us DOOOO EEEEET Lol, I guess I'm asking if y'all have 70.3 or 140.6 sticker on your vehicles. My wife says that I'm showing off (look at me...) I tried to explain to her I'm not trying to show off it's displaying the lifestyle that I have chosen. |

I'll just say it sounds like you would like to do it. Your truck? Your race? I know lots of people think it's "tacky" but I like seeing them. Plus, it means I could strike up chat about something besides which prez they voted for or how many people and pets in their family I wanted to get one of these for my back window of my truck and my wife said no that it's cheesy and tacky. What do y'all think? I thought it was cool

I like the simplicity of running events but tri is cool. Speaking of, I'm in Massachusetts now!!!! Hooooo boy. Look out Mass.... I've already got a helmet on... Funny story. My cousin is leaving for India today so I am going to be at his house by myself so he is showing me where everything is. He opens the closet and is like, "The helmets are here." And I'm like, "What do I need a helmet for?" Then he just looks at me for a long time. I guess he knows you well, huh? Why, do you suppose, he's going to India? |

I have a SBR, a 50.5 KM (Oly Distance), and a 13.1 on the back of my car right now. I hope to add a Century Ride, a 5k swim, a 70.3, 140.6 and a 26.2 to the collection. I have never been one for putting stickers on my car, but suddenly enjoy having it for the bragging rights/conversation starters with people at work or the park. |

Yep - Washington state - across the country - compete in the Savageman Tri (I want my name in a brick for doing "the climb").. visit Manatees on the way - and end up in Boston. Now I just need a motor home, a lot of spending cash, and fellow manatee's that want to travel the country doing triathlons! That would be sooooo awesome. I love racing in different venues! DH's support in traveling tri's is waning i'm afraid How does the DH feel about visiting Manatees? (I'm being serious). I am going to be in Denver in May - and I am considering making it a road trip. If I do a road trip instead of flying, I am going to do an epic road trip where I schedule stops in certain cities to run or ride with fellow BT'ers on their favorite routes. I thought it would be a cool way to travel, and I can incorporate my training into the trip. If this comes to fruition, I am trying to figure out a way that New Mexico can be on the route... There are a few obstacles in the way now ($$$) but it may happen yet. I really want it to. Will be making the final decision before the end of the month. We are always willing to open our home to a friend. May is kinda insane for us though. I have 3 races 3 weekends in a row and we are in Colorado for a week. That being said, let me know if/when you plan to come down and we'll see if it fits. |

I couldn't live most places on the East Coast but NYC is an exception. I'm betting Boston will be great too. I've always been a huge fan of big cities though. The people here are fantastic, too. That part was very unexpected. Asalzwed - 2013-04-09 8:58 PM Gah...New York. I could live here. Yup. Really? I hate the East Coast. Ok - Hate is probably to strong of a word, but I could never live anywhere on the East Coast. Visit - sure...live, no way. (The Navy put me on the East coast for 4 years) I have met many an East Coast transplant that love it here, but when I lived there, I rarely met someone from the West coast that didn't want to go home. That IS surprising to hear. My guess is that it has a lot to do with the person they are conversing with! You are very likeable. I'm so excited for your race! ????? Then I replaced the 13.1 with a 26.2 and replaced the 70.3 with a 140.6. Then I started to buy myself necklaces for races completed (Jonathan, you may want to skip this last step.) Ladies, the necklaces are inexpensive but fun. I have two from Lift Your Sole (http://www.liftyoursole.com/, 26.2 and similar charm one that I made up after Vineman last year) and one from Endorphin Warrior (140.6). After Myrtle Beach, I got myself the run charm that I got for my Secret Santa. Just fun stuff. Edited by jmkizer 2013-04-11 1:04 PM |

I do not think they are cheesy and tacky---but it would be cooler if it had a manatee outline around the number instead... |
