What up y'all?

What a great weekend. Half mary on Sunday and a 52-mile bike on Monday. Tonight I'm actually going to *gasp* swim 2400 for sheeyots and giggles.

Sat - all set for a nice 15 mile ride and get a flat 1.5 miles in. No kit with me.

Mon - reality slaps me in the nuts by proving just how deficient I am in the swim. OWS practice at the beach demonstrates I still can't find a freestyle breathing rhythm that lasts more than 40 yards.

Morning TAN -

Weekend somewhat sucked - bad weather.

A town here that is about between us and where SprintDA is except more to the north, was completeley and uttterly obliterated - I mean - nothing left.  I was looking at pictures and they might as well just raize (sp?) the town and start fresh - if they even do that.  We didn't lose a tree branch - but they are just destroyed.  They said the tornado was between a half mile and a mile wide.  Can you believe that?  That is one large honkin' tornado!!!

That happened about a year ago to a small town in Kansas - made the national news and actually President Bush spoke at their HS graduation earlier this month. Tornado was a mile wide and took out everything in the town. Everything. They are just now re-building - those who chose to stay. I know a girl from there... her mom's house was on the edge and exactly half of it was destroyed and the other half was left in tact.

Yeah when I was down in Kansass I went through Greensburg, the town that was destroyed. I saw Bush on TV the prior day talking about how he was so proud that the town rebuilt, but when I went through there, maybe two or three houses were actually rebuilt. In fact, most of the buildings that were hit hadn't even been torn down. One person mentioned that FEMA money promised to tear down the buildings and rebuild hadn't come through. After a year.

Hi Lisa. How are you?

Go with the 675, as much as I like the 955i's they're getting tough to find (around here anyway) in good shape. <----Sprint ST1050

Very true.  Plus the 675 is plenty of bike for me.

LCT!!!!!  DOOD!  Glad to see you!  We've missed you around here.  How are things?

I'm gooooood... 'cept I have a little strip above my butt/lower back that is BURNED from where my jersey rode up on my ride the other day. It's like I have a tramp stamp or something. It hurts.

I love the term "tramp stamp". It always amazes me how many women have them and don't know what it's really for... they just think it's cool because their friends have them.

I saw a guy with one a few weeks ago. That was icky.

I was at a water park on Sunday and the beach yesterday and saw A LOT of these.  Some were modest little items like butterflies or flowers.  Some of them were FULL ON pieces of artwork.

One woman had a design that covered from the top of her butt all the way to her kidneys.  And it covered side-to-side.

Ouch! Well it could be bigger, which would make it worse!

I have the `cycling jersey tan in full effect after yesterday's ride. It's really cool looking and I just KNOW that the chicks dig it.

Makes you wonder what the next generation is going to use as their tramp stamp. There isn't much further to go, is there?

Wow, I was in Southern Illinois for the weekend and didn't hear about that. It didn't look bad at all here when I got back. That's crazy.

Yeah - Town is/was called Parkersburg.  Terrific school for athletics in this state (Aplington-Parkersburg)  High School was flattened - nothing left.  I heard that a bunch of the state championship teams went out to the school and tried to find the trophies.  No sign of anything recognizeable.

Not overt enough. Chin, I guess.

What was our (30-35 year olds) stamp? A tongue piercing? That's all I can think of... I don't remember girls having tattoos other than on ankles and such.

After you mentioned the tornado I read about it in the news. Unbelievable devastation. Did it go N-NE from there, or did it get into the Cedar Falls-Waterloo area as well? They didn't mention where the storm went after it went through Parkersburg. Feel bad for the people in the town. Can't imagine having everything destroyed like that so unexpectedly.

The actual path of the storm was SSE - it threatened Benton county and then Linn County - but it lost a bunch of its power after it touched down there (which was more than enough).

Came that close to Linn County?  Wow.  Now that would have been some nasty devastation.  Mercy.  Thoughts going out to them.  Any fatalities?
