Did my 10k today.  Gotta love the downhil.  finished in 43:58, a bit slower than I had hoped given the downhill section but still pretty happy.  I probably passed 20-30 people in the last 1.2 miles.

Pretty cool to be at the somewhat pointy end of the field, finished 84th out of 1188 people racing today and had all the space I needed. 

Now if I could just figure out how to run off the bike I'd be doing ok.

I have actually only done one other stand alone 10k and Sam and I jogged it and held hands crossing the finish line, last year at a jingle bell 10k. 

Best in a race was 50:00 (8:03/mile) at Rev3 this year so almost a minute per mile slower.

I dont' run enough stand alone races to know how fast I am so every race is pretty much a shot in the dark on pacing, which makes things interesting.

Winner in this race ran a 4:54 pace, 2nd place 4:56, lol that just hurts to even think about.

awesome freakin' job tony.  very cool to see all this speed your picking up from all the hard work.  but more importantly, you were right, tracy is a hottie!!!!

Rumor has it some of you are wagering on us. What's the under/over? Good day today. Gonna call it a night soon.

In all seriousness, that's an awesome 10K time.  Glad I'm doing any races with you in them.  Just made a mental note for future races.

Tracy is going to take the lead in the swim and never look back.  I got Tracy...  I bet Doug PR's though.  John will be the first to the beer tent.  Over / under on time to the beer tent is :20 sec. post finish.  I'm taking the under.

One thing I just thought of that was so awesome about Augusta was that on the bike course last year, they didn't just have bottled water.  They had SmartWater.  Loved it.  It was a nice surprise.

Looks like another fast swim this year!!  The weather is not looking good.  I bet the pro's may have missed out on the rain with their super fast bike times.  Great job everyone.  Keep it up!

Wow, just checked in at Augusta...awesome swims guys!

Anyone know the weather there...I know they were forecasting storms.  We are in Jacksonville this weekend and although they are also forecasting sotrms it looks like the storms are holding off for now.

Rain.  I live about 2 hours north of Augusta and it's been raining most of the morning here.  Sometimes, it's been pouring enough to cause ponding on the roads.  Tough conditions.   We've had a few rumbles of thunder, but nothing major.

Finished my Sprint today.  I got more cut up and scraped up than any of my previous tris. It doesn't help that I had to trot across a very rocky terrain barefoot (before the swim) and walking through prickly bushes that cuts like crazy (and it's ESPECIALLY painful after you sweat and all the sweat salts get in there. Yowch!).    Learned a lesson - KNOW WHERE THE HECK you're going on the BIKE!  I lost about 5 minutes because I went the wrong fork. Damn volunteer didn't direct me. By the time I got to the other side of the Bike In, it was too late. So I yanked off my bike shoes and ran like hell ACROSS the dang rocky gravel terrain and prickly bushes to the timing mat.  Hope I didn't get DQ'd! Lol. 
Loved my wetsuit! Not loving the little tiny tear made by my fingernails, nothing a little wetsuit glue cannot fix. 

However, having said that, I pushed it nice and hard on the bike, and suffered a little bit on the run (it's alright, it's a learning lesson. I wanted to see how hard I can do) - But, I'm DANG HAPPY that I finished under 2 hrs!!!! :-) Especially with the lack of training for a week.

GOOOOOO AUGUSTA RACERS!!!!!!!!
