hehehe...You're welcome. I'm amazed that I got that far myself. Navigating around the site seems to have gotten a little more difficult recently, aaaaaand... I haven't put much time into exploring it

Phew!

Yanti is safe and well in her hotel room - she negotiated with her eyelashes and got some CO2 cartridges.  It has been eventful - she even got to registration on time.

So the race is on.

Yes, among a whole shyte storm of travel problems.  She just barely made it to the pre race meeting on time.  Had to beg someone to sell some CO2 cartridges as she had a flat and there are no bike shops in town....total mess......

1 DAY TO IM JAPAN (Sat) & finally made it here! 1st meal (Powerbar) in little Japanese room (note incredible view in background!). Summary: 1. Typhoon delays flights arriving in Korea. 2. People arriving before me who didn't make their connection to Sapporo had priority. 3. I got bumped to 3 flights later. 4. I made a fuss. 5. I got upgraded to business class on next flight (still 10 hrs later than original connection). 6. Arrive Sapporo. Rental car company has problem with my booking; no one speaks English; cannot resolve. 7. Carry, on my body, by myself, bikebox suitcase carryons onto train to Toya. 8. Miss 1st transfer b/c took too long getting off train. 9. Get off at next station. No elevator. Haul all down 2 long flights of stairs (nice piglet helped!) across to opposite platform and up 2 flights of stairs. 10. Back to transfer station. 11. Made connection. 12. Arrived Toya YEEEEES!!!!! checked into hotel superfast. 13. Walked to mandatory meeting/registration JUST IN TIME. 14. No one at expo has air cartridges (you can't fly with them b/c compressed gas) OR frame pump. No bike shop in town. Flat tyre = race over. 15. I eagle-eye different race mechanics, spot the one speaking some English, and beg. 16. He has 2 cartridges + frame pump as a packet but not for sale (many had already asked; many looking for cartridges or pump). 17. Beg some more. 18. Puppy eyes fill with tears. 19. He agrees to part with it for $50. 20. I now own world's most expensive air. Conclusion: ALL IS WELL and the race is easy after this! THANK YOU!

SO happy to see that you made it!  It was the first thing I did this morning was check FB to make sure you were going to get to the start line.
