I'm going to do the half.

Am planning on Phoenix in January for a full... then really, truly buckle down for dedicated IM training.

If I have anything to do with it, this thread will be one of the biggest influences in everyone getting to the line healthy and prepared.  Y'all are my CdA family, and I care way more about your success than someone trolling the forums stirring up trouble.  Sometimes, that'll mean I care enough to tell you that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  You should be flattered when that happens

A good blog about run frequency, pretty much what Josh has been advocating.
http://stevefleck.blogspot.com/2010/11/running-frequency.html

This is right in line with the theory that there really is no such thing as 'junk miles' for the average AG athlete.  There are always more efficient ways to train, but moving forward in itself is progress!

Week one done, and feeling pretty good.  I actually lost 4 pounds. I may need to up the calories a little next week but I’ll wait to see if I lose 4 pounds again this week before I do.  My goal is 2 pounds a week.  Only18 more to go hope everyone else is doing well on their workouts and weight goals.  Granted most of you may not have started yet but I’m training for 70.s CA then will transition to training for IMCDA.  YEEE HAAAAA!!!

HAPPY TRAINING!!

I am running it, Tapering this week and next!  I don't feel ready to taper, so I guess that is good.  My legs and body felt better this time around vs. last year (pretty similar mileage).

My training schedule got a bit messed up due to illness, so I sorta feel like I already tapered.  Oh well, I haven't done this race before so I just want to see how it goes.

Hopefully I won't get off track like this for CdA.

Thanks for the link.  Very cool, that hill looks like fun from here in FLA.  It is nice to see folks talking about CDA 20011.  I am stoked for this, I wish June was next month.

HEY cmslkein welcome to the CdA party train! We are a happy and lively group! Many of us are starting some our training now (in anticipation of early half-IMs or base building) and looking forward to January to unleash the IM training monster within us so we can have a wonderful day on 26 June!!

Thank you, never really done the chat thing before.  It will be nice to read about other's ups and downs of training, something about misery loving company I suppose.  I don't know if I will be able to help much, but am willing to try!

Hey all you Seattle marathoners! I was signed up to run the half, bit my stress fracture has me on the sidelines. I'll be volunteering instead that day as a course marshal on 4th and Republican, which is mile 13.0/26.1! Look for me and I'll cheer you on to victory (and make sure your way is not impeded, of course)!

Hey now, listen to that coach! Don't forget that recovery is a KEY part of racing and training and something that us A Types probably due poorly and then get upset when injuries happen! We want you healthy at the start line...so recover well--you're not  going to lose too much, and might be surprised at what you gain from good recovery!

Watching IMAZ was like a mini-KONA. Just awesome stuff. Dang, made IMFL and IMAZ 2010 feel inferior. Hope we can get some pro bling to IMCDA 2011!

Thought I'd share a little tidbit from my evening commute today.  Yeah this is the Pacific Northwest.  Time for the indoor trainer?

YUCK!!!!!

We are having crazy weather in Michigan...again. At 9:30 PM it was 65 degrees and a thunderstorm. By Friday we should be seeing a picture like yours. It is Nov. 22 and we haven't had measureable snow yet Undecided, not complaining but it is crazy to have not had a storm yet

thats the last time i complain about cold weather on this thread haha. that wintry weather sucks. im in ga and from nj so im glad to get away from it.

now that the trainers are being broke out a couple of questions come up:

1. anyone getting the lemond revolution trainer? if so, please comment here about it.

2. how do you avoid saddle sores on the trainer? i dont get them much on outdoor rides but always when volume goes up on the trainer.
