Root canal yesterday. It was not fun. The worse news is that the dentist was only able to do a temp job on it as the tooth was pretty infected. If it lasts this week I return next week for him to make it permanent- ie another root canal on the same tooth. If not he yanks it.

Yeesh! Did the doc give you some antibiotics to clear up that infection? Take some ibuprophen to keep the pain down. Or use oraGel topical.

Yep I did the course of antibiotics last week as the pre party. Otherwise the thing was so painful he couldn't touch it. That and high doses of ibuprofin got me thru last week. So far so good today. We'll see what the rest of the week brings. Hopefully the infection is gone and he'll be able to clean it out again and cap it for good next week. On the positive side my dental vocabulary has expanded tremendously....

I recommend the double V treatment.

Vodka and Vicodin.

Boy howdy. 40mph winds last night. Only 26mph right now.
Training for an Ironman in these winds really sucks the life out of me.

Wait, you're training for an Ironman?  Don't tell Brad, he'll think you're trying to steal his spotlight.  Not that he ever really had one, but it's okay to let him believe it sometimes.

So... now that IM Louisville is all your fault... wanna do it again?  I'm trying to convince Laura that she wants to do it too.

My Iron-buddy Linda (LindaKC here) had mentioned wanting to get revenge on that course. While I really want to do as many different IMs as I can, I'd think about it for sure!

It's one that I'm definitely considering (especially if I can convince you, Whizzz and maybe AmyJo that you all want to do it too)... and then mulling around the idea of IM Whistler for next year, cuz I'm crazy like that.  And it would be fun to do an IM in my home town.

Zoinks.  You're considering Lousisville for this year?  Talk about short notice, lol

By the way, have I mentioned that I, too, am training for a 140.6?

I'm not training for an Ironman or anything like that (well, I'd like to do one in a few years when my youngest is a little older, and all of my current training has to help somewhat, right? . . . so maybe *I am* training for an Ironman . . . hmmm, but I digress . . . ), but I on what was supposed to be my recovery ride last night, I got stuck in a absolute downpour. When I left the rain was still supposed to be a few hours away and the skies were not ominous. I rode for a bit and when I turned for home the skies behind me were dark. White knuckle riding as thunder was following way to close to the lightening around me.

My doc called about my test results yesterday.  It surprised me because I can honestly say I forgot all about it.  Too busy thinking about work and my golf game...

Happy to say, scan came up negative for any rogue thyroid cancer cells having a party and even added they were very good results!  I guess if I was really worried about it, I would be happier.  They just told me what I knew!  haha..

UGH!  I was happy that Mondays are always a rest day for me, so I got to stay inside and just do some core work at home.

Today though, I've got a short run and a 3000m swim to get done.  Keeping my fingers crossed that the rain stops if only for 45 minutes.
