Trevor I know this guy who was born in 1952 who may never see the Leafs win a Stanley Cup in his lifetime. (me)

Good luck on your races Sam and John. Sam, I know you can beat John. I think he should give you a 1 minute handicap. Then it is a real race for you both.

Linda Good to see you back on line and that Connor is doing well.

Went for a swim last night. It was the first time I have been in the water since my HIM.. man was I ever slow. At least now I am back into the water and I will continue. I'm joining the tri club here in Guelph and I'm sure that will be a great benefit to my training. I am also going to help mentor and lead some of the newer triathlets in their training. It'll be great getting back into a leadership role. I didn't realize how much I missed until I volunteered to do this.

Good luck to everyone racing and training on the weekend. Don't eat to much candy on the weekend but then again how much is too much.

Have a great day everyone.

Does Boston have a 5k?  If so I might be down with it....

You are in luck!!!  I watched the race the last two times I was in Boston, very fun atmosphere to have people run down  Boylston through the finish line.  I guess we will see you there in '11!!! Cool

Probably weren't expecting to hear this, were ya?

Never been to Boston...  might be fun....

All right - signed up for Team in Training - Lavaman Triathlon.  Olympic distance at the end of March in Kona...  Just about a perfect tune up for the Lonestar HIM...

Gotta do some serious fundraising though.... No worries it is for a great organization - Leukemia and Lymphomoa Society!

I'll keep ya'll posted....

Andy- I think the TNT olympic is fantastic.  I know several people who have done that race and they said it was amazing.  I did hear it is good to know how to breath on both sides for the swim.  They had jet skis sitting idle as life guards but they were inside the swim box so depending on which direction you were swimming you would get a breath full of engine exhaust.  Have a great time and let me know about the fundraising.  Like I said I know people who did this and I can share their fundraising tips.

Rob - I think you would make a great mentor.  What a wonderful idea..........

Linda - great news about Connor and you.  Go IMFL!!!!  I'll bet you'll have such a great time now that your focus has changed. What a wonderful perspective and inspiration!

Chet - 7 days, 19 hours and 18 minutes!  But who's counting!!   Lets pray for no wind!!!

Tony and Sam - you two crack me up. I have never met a more competative couple.  Be honest Tony, you just don't want Sam to have one more T-shirt and finishers medal than you do right?  But seriously, if your body is up to it - go for it. A half will feel like nothing after the full 26.2.

Doug- I have friends that have used Vickie as thier coach - she has crazy energy.  I've seen her at Riverwood with her athletes and she is crazy excited in yelling encouragement to her team.  Great lady if you can keep up with her intensity.

I think I am the only one not interested in baseball.  After the strike and all the doping the sport really left me cold.  And honestly - I don't like spending $50 for a ticket to watch guys stand around itching themselves for 4 hours.  We have a minor league team in Durham and those games are much more exciting IMO. Very affordable tickets for the whole family, closer seating, better ball and lots more action.   So bring it on, tell me how awful I am and un-American, bla bla bla.  I can take it.

LOL - we have always been that way.  Tennis - a few broken rackets (both parties).  Golf - a few clubs that have "slipped" from our hands.  Drinking - well I'm not part fish so Tony always wins that one.  Tris/Running - I had a head start but he's made for lost time now.  But for us it's fun and we don't take ourselves too seriously.

Good luck everyone racing this weekend.  And John may you be one second slower than me.  :-)

We have a minor league team in Durham...

Does Crash Davis still have the minor league home run record?  Is Nuke Laloosh a legend down there?  Is Annie Savoy really a dirty wh*re?

Linda, glad to hear Conner is doing well.  If, at IMFL, you see a grown man, about 5'2", with a IM tat on his shoulder, bib number 562,  that's my neighbor.

Rob, I think you'd make a great mentor.

Andy, that TNT race sounds cool.

Sam, you've just hit on why Robin and I don't compete.  I always win and she leaves pissed...and doesn't get over it easily.

Steve, not dressed up today, but going pure white trash tomorrow night...but I live in southern Indiana so I'm already half-way there  Foot in mouth

I just went and got spray paint on my lunch break to make part of my son's costume. He is going as death, so I have to make a scythe. It should be fun in the shop tonight.

To give you an idea of my sense of humor, I tried to get my daughter to make a giant box shaped like the state of Texas and go out with my son. If anyone asked her what they were she could say "We're the only sure things...death and Texas."

I'm warped I know.

Yippee!!  Another one of my races went 70.3!  And it's in Lake Michigan, the coldest, choppiest water in the state! What could be better?

Umm, the Pacific Ocean in March???    I just looked up the swim waves for both of my HIM's next season, and they are not the last group for either, thankfully!  But next year I am in the W45+ wave.  That's it, I will now always be in the 45+ wave, nothing after us, Suzy!!!

me too.  Pulling for the Phillies in this one

Same, not that I like the Phillies, but despise the Yankees

My current FB status is: "wouldn't root for the Yankees if they were playing Iraq"

X 7000.....so far so good.......

I know this boy who was born in 2001. He is worried he will never see the Yankees win the pennant in his lifetime!

born and raised in greenwich ~ 35 minutes from the stadium.  many many summer days spent there.  so i'm not like a lot of these loser red sox fans who hop on a wagon and some yanks fans.  family has had season tickets for a number of years now.   man they got jacked in the move across the street.  in the old place we were in the loge just outside 3rd.  if you've ever been there you know how small the concourses are.  the loge is the best level because there are only 15-20 rows or so.  now they are upstairs in left field.  bs.

but why did cheese cake throw utley the same two pitches.  dumb a$$.   can't wait to see pedro tomorro night.  that place is gonna go ape sh*t.

Hey there John, take it easy.  Us Boston fans are the most loyal in sports (Lynn, MA, thank you very much).  It's good to see Gay Rod up to his old self.
