Subject: RE: Fred D Mentor Group - Part IIArend, Jen and Fred - great good luck this weekend. I have just started back up with work, so been a little unhitched from the group, but you better believe I am going to be following you all every inch of the way this weekend! Re: your Left arm/shoulder getting fatigued. I am going to guess you are right handed? I suffered similarly in my left arm after separating my right shoulder last year. My coach believed that it was because I did not swim for 8 weeks and lost general shoulder strength. It manifest itself in my left shoulder even though it was my right shoulder that as injured. The thought was that even though I was not swimming I was still using my right arm for all sorts of things (I am right handed) but not my left. When I did start swimming again this seemed confirmed as while I had to work on form stuff with my right arm/shoulder, I had to do a fair amount of strength balancing work with my left. Anyway, you have missed a lot df swimming it seems, so don't underestimate the affect this might have on your upper body/shoulder strength and the collateral impact it might have on the bike. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. You are absolutely right not to worry about it. I mean Sunday is only a day, and you all can do anything for a day, right?!? Good luck again to everyone this weekend - it is going to be awesome. |
