Veteran 2441 Western Australia | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors v.2 thr.3 CLOSED (Poptart/pet pic bribes considered) Quick update posting from my phone which sucks. Kingsley finished in about 16:30 I think with very very sore feet, he can't walk at present. Yanti finished the bike despite crashing (not her fault she assures us) suspected broken or very badly bruised ribs she got at least half the run maybe 3/4 done before they pulled her from the course. They have both been put to bed without much celebrating tonight. Edited by StaceyK 2014-12-07 10:13 AM |

I was seriously starting to doubt myself as of late...even though I knew I was sick at Boston last year I couldn't help but think maybe it was just me. So it was nice to have you guys believing in me and I am glad I kept on pluggin' along Anyway, very happy to have a shiny new marathon PR, off of a less than ideal training plan. I am ecstatic about my execution of my plan. I have never ran a marathon and felt good about it. I am just so happy about the 2ish minute negative split. So happy! |

Salty, you continue to rock. You might have had moments of doubt these last months, understandably, but I'm pretty sure no one here did. Did my first longer run in a while this morning with The Better Half - a bit over 10. Felt soooooo great to just keep running, and the weather was perfect for it (cool, overcast). Finished with a grande latte from S'bux and a dip in the hot tub, then cooking a big breakfast/lunch of pancakes, hash browns and eggs for the whole family. Not a bad Sunday! And this after a Trail of Lights (aka Beer and Funnel Cake) run last night in a park downtown with the fam. Aaaaaahhh, good times, indeed. How was everyone else's weekend? Good training? Fun stuff? They are going to the hospital today (Monday) as it would have been too busy yesterday. Kingsley had to be carried over the threshold lol. Red Robber is sadly probably gone. Oh and yanti has fleas lol. |

Still very limber and springy even after a run. Then had a 4 yr old jump in my lap last night, and found there may be a wee bit more quad tension built up than I thought. |

Matt Sounds like a great weekend, Matt. Beer and Funnel Cake run?! Wow, that definitely sounds like a net-positive carb activity. I found out at choir practice yesterday that we've been invited to go to Cuba next fall. Talk about an amazing opportunity!! I also realized that I'm going to have to cancel most of my race entries because the races are on Saturdays and conflict with rehearsals. We're performing at a conference in Baton Rouge in early Feb. and have our concert here in late Feb. My director will have my hide if I miss any rehearsals between now and then. I went for a little test run today. My hip was achy beforehand, felt fine during the run and was only a little bit more sore afterward. I'm taking that to mean that I didn't do any permanent damage the other night. Whew! |

Veteran 2441 Western Australia | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors v.2 thr.3 CLOSED (Poptart/pet pic bribes considered) Originally posted by jobaxas So another quick update. Yanti still at the hospital, having the hole in her elbow stitched up and possibly her chest xrayed. Tina, Yanti's sister is with them and trying to convince Kingsley to let the doctors check out the massive blisters on the soles of his feet, he's being stubborn and pig headed about it (sound like someone else we know?). Oh and yanti has fleas lol. Apparently there was a fair bit of carnage on the bike course yesterday and the ER at the hospital is chockers again this morning. There were also a fair few of the late finishers that presented in the med tent with hyperthermia, it was a beautiful day with just a light breeze until about 8pm and the sea breeze came in with force and the run course went back and forth along the beach. Oh and yes Tina and I carried Kingsley across the threshold, and nearly dropped him in the process. Just in case you need to know it is very hard carry a 150# man and giggle like a school girl at the same time. |

Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors v.2 thr.3 CLOSED (Poptart/pet pic bribes considered) Great to see thie weekend's efforts from so many Manatees. Matt - Good to see you and Kim out taking advantage of the Austin offerings. Congrats on a great weekend. Mary - Your choir must be the shiznit! How cool to have those kinds of opportunities. Adrienne - Really nice to see you have a race that you are proud of. Never doubt yourself, you have way too much to offer for that to happen. Stacey - Thank you for being there for friends. Nothing is more important in life than people and the love and friendship that we give and receive. Yet again you have proven that! And thanks for keeping us updated! Yanti - Congratulations on your nuptuals! Unlike many others, your 4 marriages (3 or 5 or whatever) have been with the same person, and that is simply cool! Ann-Marie - I hope your weekend away was full of healing and progression. TJ - How goes everything with the calf? Darren - I expect that you are getting the assistance you need to improve and get answers! Monica - Congrats on finding that MUP, it looks awesome. And at this point it looks like you have a more firm direction on the house, so the rest will come together, I'm sure. And if it doesn't, then it isn't meant to be. Either way, you are stronger having gone through it. Janyne - It looks like your first road ride went pretty well, congrats. But I must say, your elf is up to some Manatee like shenanigans! Randee - I expect that your race was awesome, just like you! Melanie - How is everything with the family? I hope things settle down for you and for dad. Judi - I have to say, I looked through your logs this morning and noticed you've had 4 empty days in the past 2.5 months. You and Ben and Adrienne really do know how to keep after it. I really wish I could get to that type of consistency. You Rock!!!! Sorry if I left anyone out, but work calls. Time to start my last day before I burn my last 4 vacay days this year. Enjoy the beginning of the week my friends. |

Still very limber and springy even after a run. Then had a 4 yr old jump in my lap last night, and found there may be a wee bit more quad tension built up than I thought. Haha leave it to the 4 year olds to bring out the aches and pains. I am going to see my nieces this coming weekend. I'm bracing myself now. Happy to see your running coming along! |

Either way, you are stronger having gone through it. It was AMAZING to me that it was virtually deserted, and yet fully paved with two lanes and went for miles upon miles of riding. The only thing I wished was that it had more hills, but Tony was thoroughly against that idea, especially for his first time out in a while, so I'll let it slide. As for the house drama... it will work out one way or the other, and if it doesn't happen now, we're ok with that too, it just means more time to sell the Chicago condo, pay off some bills and save for a bigger downpayment. |
