Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() On a serious note, does anyone have good suggestions for snack size meals (150-200 cal) that are filling? I just have to laugh at plans that suggest 5 almonds and a piece of string cheese. I can eat that while I'm thinking about what i'd lke to eat. And w/ all of the smack talk going around about Lonestar, the pressure is building since I'm one of the head smack talkers. I may have to pull a Lance Armstrong and get all scientific w/ the food and starting measuring everything that goes in and out. ![]() |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Havin'Fun - 2009-11-17 8:44 AM Got up early this morning to get a nice little swim in. Got to my club only to find a CLOSED sign on the front door. I understand they closed Nov 13th, filed bankruptcy. It's a nice club, can't understand why it's closed. The original owners sold out a while ago, but the new owners had some nice plans of blowing it out and upgrading lots (the drawings were beautiful). Guess those upgrades aren't happening. ![]() Bummer, now I need to find a new place. And yep, we're out some money...have had annual memberships with this place - we just renew each year (dumb us - paid up front). Guess the timing (for me) is ok...but still...bummer I was going to ask you if you knew about this. We USED to take gymnastics there. About a month ago the parent organization had a meeting explaining that none of the coaches were being paid, the new owners messed up their filing for bankrupcy (don't know if they got that done correct or not), they turned off the heater on the pool but said it was broken, the whole nine yards. However no one from the gym told members anything, and of course they were still autodrafting all accounts. I think the bank or the judge closed the doors. I find it most interesting how there isn't any news coverage and obviously they aren't informing any of their members. Sorry about your money. That really stinks. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() BigReub - 2009-11-16 7:28 PM Suzy, no beer / vegetables preferred...I'm drawing a blank. Seriously, I can't help much - I just walk in and start eating. No prep for me. I can review the h*ll out of food though. Anyone deal with Vitamin D deficiency? I just got my blood work back from my physical and I am WAY low. The doc said this would explain why I want to sleep 24 hours a day. He also said it would help to explain my fairly recent loss of motivation to train and my slight weight gain. My sleepiness, loss of motivation, and weight gain all roughly align. So now the question is why? I start a supplement tomorrow and will take it for 4 months and then get retested. I'm interested to see how you like this. I can have a hard time in the winter when I loose my sun. I've thought about vit D supplements. Keep posting your results. |

Went for my swim and then realized that not only did I forget my towel - but also my underwear. I then had a quick coffee meet with a friend at a local coffee shop, commando. That's a first for me. ~Suzy, care to chime in? Definitely saves on laundry! Now tell me you have made your hotel reservation for Racine, ok? The rehab saga continues, I am off to see the PT I used last year when I got hit by the bike. Like Tracy, I need to find out the reason for all these soft issue injuries that are knocking me off my game. Thanks for the recipes. If you have others send them my way. I'm doing as much shopping as I can before the weekend. Tony, did you solve our bikes to Lonestar dilema? There are a couple options as I see it. A. Expensive but Easy 1. Take Bike to LBS, disassembly and packing $50.00 1a. Include a return label in the box. 2. Take bike to Fed Ex, ship to LBS on the Lonestar List ~$70.00 (guessing) 3. LBS in Texas gets the bike, unpacks, basic tuneup, delivers to site, takes it back after the race, packs up and ships $100 (they said they don't exactly have prices set this early but that is the planned price) 4. Ship back home ~$70.00 5. Your LBS puts it back together ?? B. Cheaper but more work 1. Rent Carrying case from LBS ($10/day at one here $75/week at another) 2. Take bike on SW $50.00 3. Get Tony/John to put bike together in hotel room 4. Take bike back on SW $50.00 5. Put bike back together while watching TV and drinking beer Right now I am thinking about going with B. Mainly because we have 2 bikes to bring, if it was just me taking 1 I would go with A. Fixed that for you..... |

Like you, 5 almonds and a piece of string cheese is a joke. Here are some of my staples: 1. Egg Sandwich-1 fried egg in coconut oil, 1/2 piece toast, two super thin slices of cheese (optional), low cal mayo. I eat this as my second breakfast. (est. 150-200 cals) 2. Soup-usually 1 cup of tomato diluted with some chicken broth and parm cheese top it off (110-150 cals) 3. Gynormous bowl of mixed greens with reduced fat cheese, couple of pieces of turkey and sunflower or pumpkin seeds with fav reduced fat dressing (150-200 cals) 4. Gynormous bowl of microwaved spinach with parm on top (<100 cals) I ended up eliminating the apple/PB combo Trevor recommended because I found myself eating the apple so I could gorge on the PB out of the jar. BAD for someone 4'10". Tony--thanks for the info. Being totally clueless I need to go with Option A. Putting together my own bike is a recipe for disaster. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() BTW here is the message back from the other bike shop listed (Webster) We should have our plan set by January. We will be setting assembly fees and we will be able to take in your bike, assemble and rebox it for you. This is our 5th or so year at this race. We do not ship home though. You need to have a return label printed when you ship it here. We will send it out for you, but this is the part you have to read. You MUST get a return label printed. You want the bike to be in your name in both directions so that if something happens to it you are the responsible party. You want to be the insured party under all circumstances. It should be about $60 to assemble your bike and $40 to box it. Let me know if you have any more questions. We will bring the bike to you also if you need us to, and we will be able to take it from the race back to the shop. All bikes will get shipped out Mon-Tues, as long as return labels are printed. We will be able to print them at the race for those who do not follow directions too. This is our 5th year so we are used to having to make exceptions. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thought I would pass this thought along. As stocking stuffers for both my girls I've ordered each of them a Road ID, the wrist band -size S. I have a friend who did this for her daughter and it fits great on her little one's ankle. That way my kids have all their emergency info right there. Thought it would work for vacations as well, not just riding. Great little tags incase you get separated at Disney or something. Road ID is having a promotion right now if you are interested. Use the code PCSaveOurHair9 to get 15% off. Pretty good. |
