On the upside... No rain! Kate, I would love 65 degree days right now. We had snow the last two days, but luckily it wasn't much, but if it is could enough to snow, it really is not a great spring day. We have some warming headed our way on the weekend, but I have myself booked for selling art and playing music. Hope to enjoy it some, when I can.

18 right now. Eighteen. I'm not certain, but I'm somewhat sure that the last time it was as warm as 65 degrees here was late September. I'm surprised there aren't reports of people just snapping and going postal.
[wait, nope... we had a pair of days in mid-November that hit 66] |

Elite 4344 | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around I ran yesterday in a long sleeve shirt and shorts. It just seemed unnecessary on March 25 in Atlanta to get out the gloves, jacket, head band, etc. I was wrong. The temp must have been in the high 40's late in the afternoon and the wind was just lurking behind every building. When I turned a corner, it was enough to knock me off my stride. Not a fun run in Atlanta. It will warm back up toward the weekend. March is going out like a lion. TW

A light jacket for the night would be helpful. If it's not windy, you can even lay out by the pool pretty comfortably. It WINDY at the moment. Has been for the last 16 hours. Hopefully it will quit before you get here. It cooled things down a little and causes allergy issues if you have them. ETA: it's chilly today and tomorrow at 69 (giggity). Then it's 75, 80, 76, and 80 Friday through Monday. Edited by Kido 2014-03-26 9:55 AM |

Won't even need the coat if you are going from hotel to car to club or bar (or whatever). Only if you want to walk around outside and just be comfortable. I typically just leave one in the car but rarely need it other than to be perfectly comfortable. Temps less than 70 are now cold to me. ETA: Bring your running stuff if you want a workout. I could take you on a good hike if you want as well. Edited by Kido 2014-03-26 9:58 AM |

[wait, nope... we had a pair of days in mid-November that hit 66] Wait for it I am close and I mean real close to going postal. it has warmed up to 16 degrees F now and We ended up with 4 inches of snow last night. Roads slippery as heck on the way to work this morning. I JUST MIGHT SNAP SOON. I actually got furious and broke my snow shovel. Full on Smashed it. We are supposed to start our annual Farm Dog Time Trial series races next week. I am not sure I am up for it. It is only going to be 34 degrees high that day. I don't think I am going to load up my new bike and go down there and do the 20km time trial. I have NO desire to run any more and no hope in site of riding my bike outside. POSTAL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. I think that and running out of vitamin D last week has added up. Edited by Techdiver 2014-03-26 10:24 AM |

Allergies are out of controls, and I had my windiest bike ride ever yesterday, at least for some sections. |

Curious if I am a wind-whiner, or if Kansas really does "blow" (I have my suspicions!). |

Curious if I am a wind-whiner, or if Kansas really does "blow" (I have my suspicions!). Well, for me, I think it was about 25-30 MPH sustained with gusts around 45mph. That was my windiest ride that I had. I'm sure I could have gone out on worse days. We have had really bad days with 50-60 mph days with almost 100 mph gusts (I'm recalling). It blew clay tiles that are nailed down and weigh 5 to 6 lbs each off my roof. But I'm not going to ride on those days. I rarely ride on days it's over 20 and stick to the trainer or wait it out. |

It was the first time I've ever been picked up and moved a foot or two to the side by the wind. |

It was the first time I've ever been picked up and moved a foot or two to the side by the wind. And the crosswinds are the worst. I'll ride in 30 mph in head or tail conditions. But when I was getting hit with the 45 mph crosswind gusts? SCARY. They were moving ME a couple feet into the traffic lanes on the highway. I was SO relieved to finally get into the urban environment and get some shelter from the wind. My stomach was in knots until then. |

For me it was in a place called DeKalb where there were gusts up to 40-50mph and it seemed like it was constantly either head-on or crosswinds. No matter which direction we turned, it was never a tailwind. Ever. It was supposed to be a century ride, but we cut it short after 50 and I had a mini-tantrum at the side of the road. |

He kept calling me a wimp (jokingly) because the wind wasn't pushing him around like it was me. The turn-around of our ride was super exposed, the rest wasn't too bad. I stopped a few times just to relax for a minute. Awful. It was also one of those overcast rides, when somehow the second the sun came out, it started raining on us. Still glad I rode, though |

Texas was stupid windy ALL THE TIME. They announced it on the weather daily.. Average was 35MPH. I had to stop riding my Hed3s because I was getting blown around too much. It would blow the traffic lights perpendicular to the ground and you could not see what color they were. My criteria for riding was if the neighbors flag pole was bent over in the wind it was too windy to ride. I rode the trainer a lot there. Thank God I don't live there anymore. |
