How is there not a UPC thread?!?!?!?!?!?! I am going to burst! Ok, I can at least talk about the signs. There were some cool signs yesterday. My fave was "Shut Up Retirement". Ha! I can't find the tweet but he said he read the signs for him.

Is the issue tied to this: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=511294&page=1#

Probably is, thanks. Although I didn't see anyone post about not having their device recognized. Still that's probably the issue. Looks like it should be cleared up soon.

Survived my mountain climb/snowboard descent/trail run! For those of you not following me on FB or IG here ya go:

the mountain

me climbing it with a very heavy pack

my camp

right before my descent

running above the canyon on the PCT

All solo. And I didn't die. I consider it a success.

That looks like fun!!  It fits right in with my training schedule too (such as it is at the moment).  Are you gonna do it or are you just prompting me?

Looks like DS2 and I are gonna do it. Waiting to hear from DS1 and SIL. DH says no, too big a crowd. DS2 and I are joking about what name to put on our bib. He said Obi wan Kenobi, I said Ihenacho.

Cool!!  I'll see if DH wants to do it too.  He might not - he hasn't been running much these days.  Maybe we can arrange for the DH's to meet us at the finish with chocolate milk.  In line with your Donut Dash, we could go to Lucile's and have beignets.  Or Voodoo Donuts, although I'm not all that keen on waiting for 45 min. just to get in the door.

Trying to catch up and saw this.  LOVE beignets.  Odd thing - we went to Paris in April and wanted to get the kids beignets from a street vendor.  We walked a bit over 60 miles in the city and saw not a one!

First weekend in Austin and they served them at brunch.  Happy place.

Beignets after a race - too happy a place to consider while at work (drooling on my keyboard would NOT be the way to inspire confidence as the new guy).

Being served post race?  DOOOOO EEEEEEET (or, rather, have them DOOOOOO EEEEEET!)

Matt

Awesome!  (as per usual)  How did you get the pics of you (non-arm-length-selfies), out of curiousity?

And a hearty WOOT to the races (and a sympathetic HEAL UP to the DL of one).

Soooooooo..., I have five sites I log my data on.  BT, TP, Strava, MapMyFitness, and Garmin.  Anybody else using a lot of sites?

I use all of those with the exception of MapMyFitness. I use TP because that's what Coach uses but I stick with BT for consistency and Strava 'cause I gotta work on those QOMs!!!!!!!!

I was doing the same, but haven't bothered for a while. Looking forward to the auto sync.

I'm logging the same as you. Must admit, TP seems to be my platform of choice at the moment. The graphs really show off my inconsistency in my training. I can see any hard earned fitness dripping away :-(

First off, let me say, that I have absolutely no idea how two weeks have passed without me saying something. What?! I'm sorry folks. I've been job hunting, hubby flew back east for an interview, kids started school, I started the fall semester. It's just been nuts. Having said that, I will also admit that my training has taken a back seat. I do look longingly at my bike though. Does that count for something?!? No? I didn't think so. Damn. Ok. My goal for the weekend is to get in a good swim and bike. I still have until November 22, so I am not stressing about it (yet). As long as I get back on track, I'll be fine.

I haven't had a chance to look through all that I've missed. It's pages upon pages upon pages...

You people crack me up!!  (Sorry - it had to be said.)  Seems like there should be something relevant about going off the rails or something, but my brain is failing to function after getting up at o'dark thirty to get flung across the country in an aluminum tube.

TJ, I've been following the UPC closely.  Are you still in CO?  Have you had the same weather as the riders?  Trying to stay vague to avoid spoilers...

Near 100 degree heat yesterday.   100 heat today.    Heat indexes have been 105+ for the past few days and the near future.   We've had a mild summer.  No more.

The tread mill and the trainer are my friends for the duration.
