Holy Moly, that better be one sweet saddle!!  I think Chris should contribute to the saddle fund since he turned you on to the DASH

Craiglist? Ebay?

I should probably take credit for this one, but do find it interesting how everyone seems so eager to pile it on Chris!

well then DAMN YOU TOO!! LOL

Man you made boiling hot tea come out of my nose

Then my work here is done.

Thanks folks, have a great night. Tip your waiter!

Salty, your pictures are amazing!  What a cool expedition.

Whew, Deanna.  Busy, busy, busy!  Hope things settle down soon, or at least settle down enough that you can get back on your bike.  Looking at it longingly might not help your fitness but at least you're thinking about it and have the desire to get back to it.  That does count for something, believe it or not.

Michael, your weather sounds utterly miserable!!!  Glad you have the option to train indoors.  Not nearly as much fun though.  Not that being outside in heat/humidity like that is fun but you know what I mean.  Finally adjusted to the orthotics?  Are they helping?

Yanti and Kingsley's race is actually today (Sunday) it starts in 15 minutes. Yanti's bib number is 128 and Kingsley's is 224. Here is the link for any of you that are still awake on the other side of the world.

No kidding!!  It's almost as much of a factor as the altitude.  (Hopefully that's vanilla enough for all you who've requested no spoilers.)

I found them. I think the tracker is slow, though.  It says it auto-refreshes every 30 seconds but it took about 15 min to show Kingsley's T1 time.

Kingsley was out of the swim in 30:10 and out of TI at 46:04.  Yanti was out of the swim in 39:43.  Go, you two!!

STAAAACE FACE thank you for all your amazing wishes and prayers

I thought about Dee and Jazz on the run course ... hope your newbies are entertaining you and having fun.

Wasn't somebody supposed to tell me racing while recovering from an infection and still in the 1st week of antibiotics = terrible idea?

(nevermind training blah blah blah life stressors heh)

I think NyNy tried--hah! My stupidity knows no bounds.

Relatively, very slow swim times for both Kingsley and I. The bike--well--there aren't any flat bits. Literally. It's either up or down. And a nice long refreshing rainstorm, complete with thunder and lightning. And then a hilly mud run (a lot was on trail and sand).

TOO MUCH FUN ... not entirely joking either!

More later. Like a RR?

I bought a Terry saddle... and it's...OK. I rode 300+ miles on it during RAGBRAI and "things" were OK. I'm not sure there IS a great saddle out there.

So glad for todays technology. My sister is running the Rev3 in Maine today. They have a live webcam on the finish line so since I can't be there for her physically, I'll be cheering her on from 3,000 miles away. 70.3 miles...she's my hero.

I haven't been thrilled with the Terry saddles despite their marketing as a women's-specific company.

Whoa thar, ma'am.  Don't forget yer recoverin' from a infection, still takin' medsin, and jus' finished a big ole race.  Don't hurt yerself bangin' away on a keyboward jus' to do a little ole race repowart.  B'sides, ya don't wanna mess up yer record streak o' tardy repowarts!  Ya might make somebody miss out on a beer.

Seriously, congrats on your finish!!!  I was trying to track you, then couldn't stay awake over on the other side of the world so I drifted off with thoughts of you and Kingsley racing your respective ways toward the finish.  I was worried about you, given all the stuff that's been going on lately!!

Yanti - glad you Manateed up and DEEEED EEEEET!  You can never have too much fun (but glad you came close).  Congrats to you both!

I actually rode yesterday for the first time since the move (got my bike from the shop in the morning - had sheared the OTHER aero bar, but all good now - and replace them with CARBON, BABY!).  Hit 104* going up one of the longer hills.  Was, ummmm.... warm.    I thought Texas was supposed to be flat, too!  Not so much.

Glad to have one week of running/swimming and at least my first TX ride behind me.  Wasn't the Hotter than Hell Hundred (nice job Jonathan!!!!! My enduring respect for that one), but was good to get at least one of all three workouts in a single week.  Wow, it's weird to be excited about that level of "achievement," but it's all part of the road back.

Hope everyone had a great weekend of RACING (WOOT), workouts and fun times.

Matt

I'm going to pick back up with my masters group on Thursday.  Looking forward to swimming again.  I basically didn't swim the entire summer, except for races (not optimal, I know).

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
