No, it isn't. We ran into a problem that's requiring more work than we had originally anticipated. It is being worked on though.

Mobile is one of our primary areas of attention for 2010.
Is it (hopefully) being written in JS, so that it can be easily ported over to the masses who are not iPhone users?

Does that mean it will work on a google android phone?

hmm, might see what it takes to port the Blackberry version I am working on over to Android.  Blackberry is Java also but with some specific Blackberry classes.

Looks like a great app.  I know many of us Blackberry owners would love something similar.  Even if it had less functionality, just the ability to upload workouts quickly and easily would provide tremendous value.  Many of us will always be carrying a Blackberry because they are typically the standard in the business world and they are what is provided at most medium to large-size corporations.

I just have a couple of questions that I am not sure have been asked yet on the 4 pages of posts:

1. Is the app ready to go yet?
2. Can I use it on my Blackberry?
3. Is it programmed in Java?

Thanks

As someone who has owned an iPhone, iPhone 3G and now a Droid..  iPhone >>>>>>> Android.

Now, for me, ATT <<< Verizon and that is why I don't own an iphone right now.

I get that completely. AT&T really blows. I'll still stand by my original assessment of Safari (Apple's web browser on the iphone). I've never used the Andriod OS so I'm not saying Apple's OS is better or anything like that. I guess I was just surprised that someone would hate on the iPhone's web browser. Just take a look at any mobile web browser before the iPhone.

sbsmann - 2010-03-29 6:18 AM Looks like a great app.

Expect to see some changes on the business front.  IT executives are finding that the Apple Iphone has much better security features due to the properiety nature of Apple.  BB is also running into trouble due to numerous data losses because of the file space limitations on all of their phones.  So don't be shocked to see Verizon stock take a large hit, because they don't have the Iphone for business, yet.  (I say yet because we have been hearing for almost 3 years now how they are bartering a deal, but Apple keep resigning with ATT.)

In addition, the next generation Iphone will probably allow the 4G coverage with the proper data/voice package. How many companies would love to give all their employee cell phones and eliminate land lines for one flat rate?

One last note, I am not an IT guy, just a person who did a ton of hands on research before getting the Iphone because I really didn't like ATT.  I was a verizon customer for 15 years (even before Verizon. ie. GTE, MCI) so it was hard for me to leave, but in the end it has been worth it.

Have seen a couple people jump sites bcuz they found an app they like linking to another site, they said they would come back if BT does get an app. Please say it will happen.
Thanks for all you guys do.

As stated above, there was a setback that required redoing a lot of work. We're not comfortable saying "it'll be available on xxx date" because there are a couple of different people in different places working on different aspects of it.

The latest big step was creating an API which was just completed. So progress is definitely being made.

On the bright side, the API will allow us to open up logging workouts to other platforms (Android, BB etc). Interested developers should send me a PM about getting an API key.

I'm surprised at how long this project is taking. I'm a software developer, so I am aware of issues facing software projects. I just wonder if this will end up being too late to the party.
I'm looking forward to the next update.

We had to scrap a lot of what had been done, but v1.0 of a new API for logging workouts was just released to the iPhone app developers. They've already done a lot of work so we're confident this won't be much longer.

If there are any Android or BB developers interested in getting an API key, send me a message.

Hey guys.  A bit of an update...

I'm leading the development effort for the iPhone app.  The development has been slow I'll admit.  We had issues with communicating with the BT site and Mike had to create an AIP so that we could have a better connection to the site.  That took some time.

We now have the API and are hooking it all up in our app

The other delay is that my team does not do this for a living.  We are three guys who have real jobs and are working on this in our spare time.

So please be patient.  It is coming.  Our plan is to try to have it submitted to Apple by the end of June.  I'd then estimate a late June early July date for availability in the app store.
