I doubt they gave him a medical cover up. But, I do think that he was happy to have been pulled. Now he can say he didn't quit... although I think it was coming.

Agreed.  And I would think if you just restrained him, and avoided something like punching him in the face, you'd be safe.  I would absolutely LOSE it!  I would also make him pick his dinner rice out from the sand/plants after we scooped up as much of the good rice for the rest of the tribe.  Sorry, none for you buddy.

Understatement of the year.  And very clear throughout whatever season he was on.

jen will know, is this the first outright and open destruction of tribe food/property on the show?  I mean, uncle russell did stuff on the sly, but this is different.

It is the first one I can think of. I know they can't hit him but at what point do you get to do something like if he is trying to burn down the hut can they stop him?

I think someone stole food and someone hid a machete.  But publicly destroying food like that?

The rice (and or beans) is not THAT big a deal.  I rinse both before using anyway.

Just put it back, dirt and all. (do NOT wash it).  Then as you use it, rinse and wash the portion and then boil the clean rice/beans.  Not the end of the world.  Now if it got wet?  Problem.

Shoot, if your life depended on it.  Even pee is COULD be salvaged.  Spread it out, let it dry.  It's sterile anyway.  Hopefully no mold sets in.  Then again, wash/rinse thoroughly before boiling.  Boiling kills everything anyway.

Yeah, I may be gross, but if it's live or die, not a problem.

Is it just me or did it seem like Shamar wanted to quit an they gave him a medical cover up.  I've had eye scrapes before and all they told me was to make sure it didn't get infected and it healed up an 2 days.  Antibiotic eye drops and you are done but it seemed like he was done from day one.  Sleeping in the shelter 19 hours and telling others to "serve" him rice.  I'd tell him get it himself or starve.

Sherri's plan seems to be falling apart.  I think Laura was the right vote she is pretty useless in challenges and probably not much help around camp if she isn't strong.

Maybe with Shamar out of the picture less tension will be happening at camp and win some challenges.

There didn't seem to be to much commotion from the favorites camp other than Philip playing GI Joe again giving Hantz a nickname.

Have you ever scratched your cornea?  I have.  Your vision gets really blurry.  Not sure why his eye was all swollen, but if your vision suddenly went blurry you'd probably freak out too....I spent several days wondering what the heck I did to myself to make me unable to see clearly....it's scary when you think you might never get your vision back.

Ditto to jldicarlo.  I once splashed paint thinner in my eye.  Terrible stuff, I don't recommend it.

Sure, he could have had medical bathe the eyeball in antibiotics and given him an eyepatch...and if that didn't work, oh well, possibly be visually impaired for the rest of his life.  As much as I didn't like the guy's actions out there, the right decision was made.

btw, Hantz is so emotionally unstable, I felt awkward watching him melt down in that preview for next week's show...

...which leads me to wonder, could medical come in to remove a player if they felt the player was mentally unhealthy?

I've scratched my eyeball before but not to where my vision was blurry.  The doc said to take some antibiotic drops and keep it clean.  I kinda wanted the eyepatch as an excuse to talk like a pirate.

You hit on one major concern: Keep it clean.  Virtually IMPOSSIBLE in survivor.

Also, they said the divets were in the field of vision...eyes don't like things wrong with them.  They swell.  And the resulting edema can do bad bad things to your vision.  Compound that with the fact that there is damage to the cornea and it's not a good thing.

I'm not saying that Shamar wasn't looking for an excuse to leave, but his eye did NOT look good.  It was obviously swollen.  And no game is worth your eyesight....

Sitting here thinking about the Hason kid.

He very well COULD have some mental issue.  Bipolar or something.  But that could just be the easy way to describe him.

Honestly, it's probably not that.  I think he just has no clue on who he is or wants to be.  Last season he tried to be the Christian kid.  Walk the straight and narrow after a rough life, according to him.

Obviously, he's not comfortable with that.  Seems like this season, he's trying to be some kind of Russel Hanson protege or really make a statement.  So THAT seems like an act too.

I almost see a "kid" trying to find himself (at least for this game) and just can't get comfortable, rather than someone with mental issues.  I'm sure they do enough screening to not let someone Bipolar or lacks coping skills on the show.

I just caught up on the episode from last week. I liked Shamar is the first episode. But he's been actin' a fool the last couple of episodes.

I've never scratched my cornea. But to have the comforts of home & antibiotic eye drops is one thing. It's completely diffetent when you're living on a sandy beach 24/7. Yes, he wanted out. But he also had a legimate medical reason for leaving the game. I don't balme him for leaving the game. I would've done the same thing......I like having vision in both of my eyes

I am so glad Shamar is gone. What a wimp. I am certain his eye situation was bad, and I'm not faulting him for that. But laying around 19 hours a day and wanting rice served to him? Give me a break. It always seems like the biggest guys go down the hardest on this show. I remember there was one big guy who was ripped (African-American gentleman, years ago) basically gave up and quit. *Shakes head*

I was shocked they voted the girl off (Laura?). I really thought they would keep their alliance. She really did suck at challenges though.

Brandon is nuts. They brought him back to shake things up. Not because he was anyone's "favorite".

I saw that and I wonder if everybody is ready to bury him alive out there for what he did to the food.  I wonder if tampering with the food is a no no in Survivor contract rules.  Should be interesting.  Seriously WTF is wrong with this kid?

The problem with these big personality returning players is they become a caricature of their former performance and goes to far.  He seems to be trying to be the good one but then try to be some sort of a tough guy too.  He needs a Coach character keeping him grounded.  He doesn't seem to have any sort of authority figure out there like he had last time.

I think he was trying to play up his bad guy role in his tribe but carried it to far.  Sucks that he got hurt but sometimes it's these things that happen to get someone off the show who is making people not want to watch like Colton.  I'm sorry he had a  serious illness but he was pure evil.

Shamar was the Philip Shepard(in his first season) of that tribe taking all the attention away from the puppet master.
