the course has been cleaned. it is pretty much good to go. a few bad spots but most is in great shape. Get out there before it starts getting dirty.

Well I am not sure "Racing" is the right word, but yes I have my money in for Calgary 1/2IM. Then the family and I can visit Glacier on the way back to Idaho. Need to head to the Court house to get my Visa squared away. Should be fun.
Hope to get in the lake next week. Will check with the local Bass Fisherman on the current temps.

Any locals want to run the course on Sunday? I am going to get out there and do one loop in the morning, not sure of time exactly.

9 Weeks?? I am really excited to hear that.

I have been concentrating on running. I am trying to BQ on May 9th. After I recover from that run I will dive in full force with the IM specific training, which means a ton more biking. I am not concerned about the swim, I swim 3 x week all year round.

My plan has only six weeks before taper - only six more long runs and rides.  Sure seems like I could use more, but training is pretty much on target so I'll trust the plan.

That's about as much as my plan has, so I guess we should trust it right?

Late reply but yeah, trusting our plans is what we have to do! Of course here we are with 7 weeks left! Gotta get out and get my run done today, 14 miles and it is beautiful out right now!

Not sure how many out-of-town folks will read this, as the thread seems kinda dead!  However, I'm still up for organizing a bike course tour on Friday before the race for any of you from out of town who would like to drive the course and get a few pointers along the way.  We usually try for about 1:00-2:00 on Friday afternoon and it takes about 1 1/2 hours.  I'll drive and can fit 4 passengers in my truck.  If we have more than that interested, I know there were other locals who have said they can drive also.  Hope everyone's training is going well, looking forward to race week here in CDA!

PS...if you're interested, PM me and I'll get back to you, thanks.

Down to one spot left in my vehicle for the bike course tour. No problem if there's more, we can get more vehicles and make a parade out it. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Ok, my vehicle is full for the course tour but if there are others interested please let me know.  It'll be no problem to get more drivers; we've never left anyone behind yet!

I have been signed up since July for this race but I figure I should finally post in here after watching the thread for a long time. I guess that makes everything more real. Thank you for everyone posting all the info. This will be my first ironman and I am scared/excited out of my mind honestly.
I am definitely interested in checking out the bike course with some locals if possible to get some in person tips. If not, I can make my wife drive me around while I sit in the back seat crying.

Great, the more the merrier!  And bleigh311, if you cry during the tour, no judgement....!

I'm interested in joining the parade! We're driving to CDA so we'll have a vehicle.  As it gets closer, I'll get more details!

I made a very late signup, this'll be my 3rd race at CdA, first one on the current bike course.  It'll mostly be a big training day for me (not my A race for sure), but I'm looking forward to getting back there.

Hi Mark, thanks for the offer to drive.  We'll probably need you since we have enough people already for 2 vehicles.  Won't be at the marathon this weekend but I'll definitely have the cold beverage for you at the finish line!
