I'm near orpington, doing sevenoak sprint April 20th and then Worthing tri Sunday 10th August then getting married in Sept so that will be it for the year. Will do some 10k races as I like them through the summer. Going to start my open water down laybourne lakes this year where team outragous are, so may do their mid-week tri's.

if anyone is intrested in the area Catford cycling club meet up on the A21 near The Rose and Crown pub and are a good club. There is a good website with all the info just google it! Also Petts Wood running club on Tuesday nights 8pm, Then West wickham master swimming club I used to swim with I think they swim in Downham now. Anyone intrested I can get more details as my Dad and little bro swim there.

Cheers

Wasser

P.S Anyone fancy going riding round kent let me know. I'm not the best rider so need the help!

Just discovered the UK thread!

I'm from the North East, but live, work and train on the east coast just outside of Lowestoft. (Near Norwich).

This is my first year and I'm entered into Blenheim Supersprint, Norwich Sprint and Waveney2 Sprint.

in my teens i could ride the 120miles on a bike, but now i'm 13yrs older and about 50lbs heavier!!

Plus i stay in a B&B during the weekdays, so naff all chance of bringing a bike with me, so running and strength training in my room are my main options monday to friday.

Will need to save the biking for the weekends and i'm just not looking forward to the swimming one bit! I have this amazing ability not to be able to float above water! i can float and tread water from about 1ft under the surface. Something my family find so funny!

Hi

Just thought a little introduction, I have been a lurker on the site and I am finding the training log an awesome tool.  I have just been scribbling things down on pieces of paper until now!

First event is going to be a Duathlon, having started my 'get fit again' campaign in May after about 6 years out of competitive swimming.  I had a busy summer though with work trips to Greece, Germany and a holiday to Canada, so ramping up training only really happened in early September.

I am around Bristol, but I travel a lot for work typically away for 3 weeks out of five which can be both in and out of the UK. Does anyone else travel a lot for work and how do they fit in their training? Do you think it could do you good because it forces variety into training over a number of weeks?

Hi all

been a lurker and smalltime poster this year as it is my first year doing triathlons.

I live in rural essex and work in London. great to see a page for the Brits. Love this site it is so useful for us beginners.

As for races have done Blenheim, bananaman at Dorney lakes and blackwater tri in Maldon. Next year have signed up for sevenoaks in April and aim to do Blenheim again followed by steelman oly and Bala oly in september.

be good to see other BTers at any of those events.

cheers

Dave

Hello other UK BT'ers...better late than never I guess!

I live in Milton Keynes and have done all of my events in Bucks/Beds and Northamptonshire but now just coming to the end of my first season (last race on Sunday).

I hadn't seen this UK area before so I've been posting on the main Triathlon Talk forum but I shall check back here regularly from now on.

Now just looking forward to winter training and next season!

Yes it did inspire me. Still in training really to be able to make the distance in sprint triathlon - however, getting there slowly but surely.

However, I don't mean to be negative in anyway, but I was reminded when looking at how many races some of you have done this year...has anyone else noticed how expensive the whole thing is. You start with entry fees and then woosh ..as much money as you want to spend.  No wonder the couch and a sky subscription appears attractive sometimes.Smile
