I do not see any shoes on your feet. For this race, you could do the 3 events in any order you wanted. the prediction for the day was a cool 100 degrees....so I decided to run-bike-swim.... I figured I might melt under the heat with the run being last. The water was oh so refreshing after an hour and a half in the sun though putting on the wetsuit was a little more difficult. Anyways, I had to run right by my transition spot to get to the finish so I dumped the wetsuit, grabbed a shirt and hat and ran to the finish line sans shoes. This was the first time I felt like losing my lunch after finishing a race....100 degrees is no fun. Edited by sweetlou94 2007-07-23 3:22 PM |

OK, so this isn't from my 1st Tri this year. This was actually later in the season at after a soaking wet 5K race. Unfortunately I was in intense pain. I had torn my left knee cartalige about 1/2 through the race and didn't know it. Well, I knew something was wrong with it but I didn't know it was torn. |

These are actually from my race last year. My first ever triathlon and it was an Olympic distance... I love all the photos where you guys are smiling... everyone looks pretty thrilled about being there. We Athena/Clydes seem a pretty chipper bunch!! Incidentally, I am actually the egghead, goliath on the right in the second photo... Do they have a Goliath class?? Awesome photo - I still don't have a decent finish line photo, mainly because the photographers at my races are either drunk or non existent! 1 ) Well 40,000 people signed up for the race so I would say yes to the 5 digits. 2) Well if you go to the video I would say no but when I ran the marathon in her home town next year she did not race it. I think I scared her off. Actually I do think she knew I was there since I spirit and she was just shuffling on in. |
