I was thinking of the scariest thing I have seen recently.... I thought of Bear, but he bikes not runs.

Maybe something like.
Team athlete's foot
Team fallen arches
Team Planters warts
Team blister busters
Team worn out shoes.

Those are all plenty scary to runners.

I've had two surgeries for the plantar wart on the bottom of my big toe. I took some really great pictures of it, too, so I'm all set if we decide to go the ugly feet route for avatars.

Scout7 - 2007-09-29 6:36 AM Hey, can we have a Team TAN? I'd be willing to get in on that team....

I think that can be done... just make sure everyone that wants in on that team to have posted in this thread thats what they want...

Im trying to keep the numbers balances for the teams but so far so good I think...

Now scary Halloween creature for TAN. Hmmm.... what grows on you and just wont die? Actually Im getting a few ideas (and not one is a fungus.. yet!)

Yes absolutely treadmill time counts... i know with the cooler weather it can be hard to got outside!

What about eliptical time/mileage?  I'm still dealing with PF and can't run or walk yet :-(

This is the first challenge I've been tempted to join ... but I train with a coach and do absolutely everything he says, so even though I'm on a run-intensive program right now, it's probably not fair to say I'd be "challenging" myself (he is doing a good job challenging me though ... a year ago I couldn't run a mile, had surgery on both legs in January, and next week alone I have seven - yes seven - runs ranging from 15 min to 75 min including 3 at 6700 feet elevation ...).  Can I be on the cheerleader squad for y'all instead of participating?  If necessary, I can prove my worthiness by my willingness to post photos  ...

spokes - 2007-09-28 12:49 PM Put me down for 150 miles in October. Piece of cake.

150, WTF? That's five miles a day! What the heck kind of a coach do you have, anyway?

1. Never underestimate the power of newbie idiocy (and our remarkable aptitude for sandbagging, not knowing any better). Newbies will beat TAN hands down.

2. I like the leg-a-tars with "Must Run More" sharpied on 'em.

3. Flaming Dragons? Anne Geddes Wannabes? Babydolls (especially great if you could put a guy or two on our team, with that name) or Chucky? Caterpillars? Bumblebees? What's scary AND new? Son of Mummy? Baby Bloodsuckers?

4. We could have a Team Gimp, dressed up as mummies--they'll need the bandages and gauze ...

I'm in.  If Spokes is going to do 150 then so shall I.  With a marathon scheduled in late Oct.  I will definitely have to keep up the running after the race.

BAMBAM66 - 2007-09-28 3:37 PM Based on the training plan I just imported I should have about 40 miles for the month. I'm a slow runner but I can at least get 'er done!

With some gentle nudging about being SUPER ambitious, I need to readjust my goal to about 30.

Sweet kaqphin, thanks for stepping up and leading this!

I'll do 20 miles for now.  I'm ready to see if I kicked this Plantar Fasciitis thing or not...
