Seattle | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors 2013: CLOSED (exc/ Pop Tart bribes) Originally posted by StaceyK Has anyone done a colour run before? Gonna walk on with my friend K in a couple of weeks, do I wear old shoes that I can throw away if I need to after? My current running shoes aren't that old and cost me $250 so I don't want to wreck them. (Yes shoes are damn expensive here!) http://thecolorrun.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/CleaningDoc2013.pdf $250! Yowza! If you care about how your shoes look, I probably wouldn't risk it. |

Master 3870 | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors 2013: CLOSED (exc/ Pop Tart bribes) Howdy Pod! I spent most of the day cleaning house and yard. Kinda tired me out, so I didn't get a ride/walk done today. Oh well...I feel better about my less messy life now I'll catch up for real tomorrow. Good luck, Jen!

I just enquired online about a cleaner - i just can't be cleaning. I need a hobbit maid. I would LOVE to have a hobbit maid, but I figure that with only having a 500sq/ft (46.5sq/m) place, I *should* be able to do it myself. I just don't want to. |

Knock it outta the park! Chris are you on vacation? Hope you're having fun! Monica/Jo - I hate cleaning and DH won't let me get a maid. Therefore, if anyone wants to come over we'll need ample notice to run the vacuum first. HAPPY THURSDAY! (well, it's my Friday YAY!) Not much new. Getting the hitch installed tomorrow on my car so now I can take my bike with me places. Not to ride but just to carry around with me. You know - to look cool. What's the race schedule this weekend??? |

What's the race schedule this weekend??? LOL! We don't have people over all that often, mainly because there's nowhere for people to actually sit other than on the floor if there's more than 2 people in the place at any one time, but if someone wants to brave the cozy conditions they'd better give us some warning! Thankfully with such a small place, it doesn't take a whole lot of time to make it at least appear tidied up... |

Veteran 659 East Texas | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors 2013: CLOSED (exc/ Pop Tart bribes) What do you eat pre-race dinner? I know now is not the time to experiment. I usually have a black bean pizza with lots of veggies on it and no cheese the night before a long workout. I'm wondering if this is TOO fibrous for a 70.3 race. What's your favorite? |

I would be afraid with that much fiber! I usually keep it simple,eg, chicken breast, some veggies, a roll or something similar. Of course, I will have to rethink this approach for my HIM as I am pretty much all vegetarian these days. ETA: I forgot the most important thing - beer! I always have a beer or 2. |

Chicken/Fish, rice, some vegetables. Overall it's more of a lunch sized meal. Saturday is fairly light in general, but still doesn't leave me feeling really hungry. Don't want to be too loaded up. I concentrate more on Thursday & Friday for a Sunday race. Saturday is more avoiding things that could cause an issue. |
