Ran 4 miles on the tready this afternoon...it wasn't so hot out, I stayed inside so I could do tempos. Fun fun! I should be right on the mark now.

Make sure you spend time after your run stretching.  I usually stretch for at least 10-15 mins after every run. You need to work on the hamstring and soleus. It is hard to make time to stretch but I think that, along with good orthotics, is what has enabled me to run pain free (at least with respect to my heels) for the last two years.

Hope it goes well.

Well I was gonna run this morning, but it was raining when I woke up so I decided to stay in bed and will get the run in tonight instead.

Got my run in today!
Ankle is a bit stiff today so stretching lots. I probably need to break down and spring for new sneaks too. Been running on these babies since Oct and they probably have around 350 or so running miles plus another 50 with walking/cross training stuff. Budget is tight though so trying to hold out as long as I can.

Have a great day peeps! Run, run, run! Run Forest Run!

I generally do some easy stretching for about 5 minutes before my runs and then another 15 minutes after my runs, including foam roller. I used to follow that up with icing of my knees and ankles but feel I need it anymore.

So, I ran this morning! I cut back on the length and intensity to see what my heel would do. It was somewhat uncomfortable while running and hurts some now but I can walk without trouble which is a huge improvement from last week. Still, I'm going to cut back on frequency and distance for a few weeks.

I'm going to talk to Dee about staying in the challenge but redoing my goals for the rest of the month.

Do what you need to do to keep pain free! It would be great if you could stay in and just reduce the goals.

Not being a smart azz but, you won't save money if you hurt yourself! I have to keep reminding myself of that, too. I can be such a tightwad. I learned the hard way to suck it up and get new shoes when I need them. I almost did some permanent damage to my knees.

Love the foam roller.  Keep it next to the TV.  I also like to ice my feet after a run, time allowing.  (Runs over 10 miles, go for the full ice bath but that's another topic).  Lots of people freeze a bottled water, but I use a can...canned beans currently.  The aluminum conducts cold better than plastic.  Just put it on the floor and roll.

Yesterday my legs were still achey from 5K and I got a massage!!  Someone comes to my work and does table massages - clothed...but it's reasonably price and it was worth it!  I woke up this morning with little to no pain!  Did a run and could feel a little of the stiffness, but not too bad.  She pointed out that I should make sure to drink enough water afterwards and I realized that because I ran in the rain - I might not have drank enough water cuz I didn't feel thirsty..oops!  Better watch that in the future!

I was going to run this morning, but it was raining and I was exhausted.  I'll do it after work today.

Work is boring.  Our ethernet is down, so I can't connect to a server I need to get work done.  Wireless works ok, but the server can't use it.  Sending out lots of emails for a conference that starts tomorrow.

Blechy... Technology is awesome, until it's not! The tech guys at my job are awesome, but it's SO frustrating when something goes wrong and I can't fix it. Just have to wait for somebody else to get to the repairs. And so much of work comes to a halt when things go down.
