Oh yes, all you racing and non racing Manatees have homework!

Photo submissions of Pace Booty! It can be your own or others.

*Bonus: Beer label photo. If this beer label happens to be on the pace booty? Well, that's just amazing.

Do you all run with phones/cameras? I only run with my phone when I'm on call and have never had the inclination to break it out and take pictures. I guess that explains why the majority of my photos come from other people! I don't know that I'll be running with anyone this weekend, so even if I made an effort to remember to bring the phone there'd be nothing to snap. Maybe I'll remember it when I run or walk my dog and you all will be blessed with a picture of his hairy pace booty

Most of the time I run with my phone (and my pepper spray.) I take a TON of photos when I run.

I'm off to see the demo of new Trek range of bikes by LBS - i am sure there will be booty to photograph there!  Even some nice bikes to take photos of.

Just finished 2 hours on the drainer, I'm a sweaty mess.

Waiting for the bedlinen to finish washing, hang that on the line then put another load on then head off to bike expo.

Hoping to make swim squad at 3pm for an hour of drills - we do this on Saturdays coz the pool is heated to over 30 degrees C for the babies' lessons!

I run with a phone just in case something should happen and I need to phone DH for a ride home.  Once I found a little dog wandering all over the highway so I picked her up took her to the local vet then had to call the pound who met me at my house to take her for the weekend!

Oh I should put that on the 'interesting things I have found' thread!

...in the middle of my drainer ride my tri coach from the tirathlon club called - wants to meet up tomorrow to go through my 'progress'.  I'm happy actually this week will work out to 9 hours 45mins, pretty much where I want to be for both HIM and IM.  Excellent.

I feel I've got my mojo and my motivation back - thank goodness maybe because the sun is shining and I got my workout done before 9am!

GREAT training today.  Started with swim.  I was talking in the changeroom about how I prefer Sue's workouts to Kevin's.  Mostly because Kevin usually has a long swim at the end; I don't like long swims at any time, never mind at the end of a session.  Jackie says to me "that is how you build mental toughness".  Crap.  I met this woman 2 or 3 weeks ago, and she has had a huge impact on my swimming.

So we get out there and we get started on the workout.  I am going through it, get to the 16x25s.  I enjoyed those; we were to do them hard, which I did.  Managed to keep the same time for all of them, :25.  Then come the 200s.  First one, not too tough.  4:22.  Next one, legs tired, puffing a bit.  About the same time though.  Kinda felt done, but figured would go for one more.  180m and I get a calf cramp.  Work through it, get to the end, again, about the same time (within about 5-10s).  At this point I feel done.  My arms are sore and tired, legs are the same, huffing and puffing.  But Jackie's words are ringing in my head.  So off I go.  And it took some mental toughness, but I got through it!  Felt great.

Then for my run tonight.  I skipped my run yesterday, so wanted to get out today.  But I didn't want to run because I felt I had to, so I wanted to make it fun.  So I decided to go over to the park and try and run on each path.  If it stopped being fun, I would stop.  Got through 4km and enjoyed every minute.  Did a bunch of weaving and bobbing on the paths through the gardens.  Felt good and strong.

Hope those not racing have great weekend plans!

May one Manatee leave California for Washington to make room for another Manatee in Cali.

May true-er words never be spoken. After a day like today, I am ready to go. Frown I still question why I am the only one given a "talking to" when the disciplinary issues are ones that I am not even responsible for. I am so over dang near everything.

Sorry, I don't mean to be dumping everything here, but I am just so unhappy. I hate this. Okay, enough, I will come back when I am better company.

Good luck to all of the racing pod members! It's going to be a beautiful fall weekend.

I printed out a pace bracelet this afternoon; good thing I did. I checked the race website, and they have a 2:15 pacer and a 2:50 pacer. Considering I finished the race last year with no long run over 8 miles in 2:48, I'm thinking (hoping!) I won't ever see the 2:50 group. The 2:15 group is calling me . . . That's 10:30/miles.

Sure wish I had trained better for this.

I'll just stick with my 2:30 pace bracelet. It looks tough enough.

I am SOOOOO excited!

You can be the pacer for the 2:30 group .  Stick to your plan, and find your mental tough.  You can do it!!!

OMG - awesome bikes that's for sure at the expo - Jae is definitely a piglet albeit the unavailable kind - we do have lots of fun just hanging out.  He wants me to go riding with his shop group ride - no charge to me.  Others have to pay apparently!

Anyway no booty to take pictures of except Jae and that was a little obvious!  The men hanging out there were all over 60 and obviusly their cycling is not taking care of their overindulgence - some men just shouldn't wear lycra especially white - eek!

Swim squad - oh that's better - everyone looks nice there!  Was a tough hour of drills indeed but was in the faster lane with Coreena and Steve who I usually am well behind, kept up and even couldve overtaken!

Tomorrow's training is an hour's walk - however my friend who has had breast cancer is taking part in the 24 hour relay for life - so I'm going down there tomorrow morning - if need be I can run an hour on the track while they walk but I reckon I'll be walking too!

My race went well this morning.  I ran at least 2/3 of it - probably closer to 3/4.  Race report is short, but it's done:

Well I did the group ride.  It was pretty awesome! Almost as cool as race day! I was one of the stronger climbers in the group. I guess all those hills are doing some good!

From my training log:

Did the routes I do on a regular basis but really pushed to stay with the lead pack so it was much more challenging. Stayed within eyesight of Andy (not to be confused with Andie who I lost). He dropped me on the flats but I caught him on the hills! I got a QOM on the big hill to the Star Center and 2 second place segments on Idalia!

Because Andy was pretty much my pace booty and because he was wearing an IPA bike jersey:

Kirsten, congrats on a great day! Some days really have that nice feeling at the end, and this sure sounds like one. And some people sure have that affect on us as well. I'm glad you found one of those people in Jackie.
