]I went back and looked at my 2010 race file, and I actually had no HR drift over the course of the ride. My power:HR over the course of the entire ride was -0.3% according to WKO+

Impressive control of your power/pacing. I enjoy your logs-thank you for keeping it open to us all.

I expect you will pass more pros this year than 2010. Keep up the great training.

elrasc06 - 2012-03-20 9:55 PM Good thing I just signed up for Harryman then!  And thanks for the tip Dave, don't want to freeze my feet off.  And I'm new to this thread, but my name is Erin.

Best of luck with Harryman.  If anyone wants to come up and S/B/R the course, I live 5 miles from there.  I actually wanted to do Harryman (it's in my backyard), but I signed up for American Zofingen Middle Distance before getting into IMLP, which is on May 20th.  It is gonna be one tough day.  I'm not sure which is a tougher race, AmZof or Harryman, but both are great prep for LP!!

Good luck with the training...

How many rides do you guys think you will get in that are atleast 100 or over? I hope to do 4-6. Do you go past 112?

I understand that people are having an issue with the zip file so I've uploaded the workout to Garmin Connect.

Thanks for sharing, that is good stuff right there.  How did you feel afterwards? Could you do another loop?  I did a loop of the course last year (beginning of July) and I can say I don't think I could have done another loop.   That is what is going to keep me up at night for sure until July.

Great question. I've never gone over 112 in training. I've always wanted to do a 120-miler. Maybe this year? Ideally I'd like to do 4 or 5 centuries. "Ideally".

keepitup Jen inspired me to join the bike photo meme.  This is my ride about ten days ago right before a 2.5 hour ride.

Okay...no more pictures from me until I figure out how to compress a photo file.  That is just ridiculous.

Damn.  Ignorance is embarrassing.

See also my blog...the latest entry has a photo of my bike that is a little easier to see.  I roll with a 2009 Kuota K Factor.  It is an SL frame (57, I think) with Mavic Askium wheelset and a Ultegra mix of components.

Apologies for the screwy photo above.  If you read this entry and there is no black bike in the post immediately above, it is because I figured out how to delete it.

I could have done another half loop or so.  I was pretty tired at the end but  when I ride I can't start and stop like the group did...that kills me. I'm on the bike I need to keep going, if I stop I get in trouble.  And you can see from the graphs that we stopped a couple times.

But it was handy because we talked about the course and a little bit of strategy, what to expect.

Injury free and staying healthy I have no doubt I'll do the 2 laps without a problem.

Ha,  I had no idea my logs were open. I'm glad you enjoy them...they're pretty dull! One of the best changes I've made to my schedule is putting my long run midweek so I can ride on Saturday on Sunday. That's what I would call my in-season schedule (vs out-season or winter schedule), and it's much easier to rack up time on the bike that way.

Dave-I think all logs are 'open' for one week prior.

Boy was it hot today. I practiced undereating and anticipating the bonk with the heat and no gels for the last 90 minutes of exercise...that was just as I remembered it. Glad to be able to hold my easy pace with quick cadence but breathing was way up and HR down as is typical for my bonk.

Starting to track my weights pre and post long runs/bikes to anticipate my needs but it is WAY early. Soon we'll be talking nutrition-then I'll panic knowing race day is right around the corner.

Hope everyone is recovering/training and enjoying the unseasonably nice weather!

Yes, thanks for sharing, Jeff! That is terrific data. I love looking at this stuff. It helps me mentally ride the course and decide a bit on pacing.

So this is the actual course we'll be riding in 4 months?  (wow... 4 months today...

Thanks a lot for this data Jeff, like dtoce i enjoy analyzing this stuff to get a good idea since don't have the LP DVD.

No problem at all everyone, glad I could do it.  I'm a lot more local than most anyone here, that's for sure!

I'll be making several trips up over the next couple months so if there is anything that I can do for you while I'm up there let me know.  Just send it to me in a PM cuz I don't have the time to read every post...I am training for an IM you know.

I'll be logging all of them and trying to add on details about the course as I go.  I wan't to be mentally prepared for this as I can.

The one thing I can tell you right now is that yes, the bears are tough...but they aren't the worst of the hills.  When you take a right on 86 and head towards Willmington...hold on! That's the worst hill of them all...it just keeps going and doesn't let up.

I forgot to ask how the roads were. I haven't heard much about the road
conditions since the last of the hurricane went through and wiped out parts of
the bike and run course.

I love the wheels too!  They were a gift from a VERY generous friend!!   I was saving my pennies for, and finally purchased, the XLAB wing rear hydration system.  Now, just got to find the time to install the dang thing!!  Rumor has it around these boards they are a big pain in the.....

BTW,  I thoroughly enjoyed reading your race report from last year, even before "meeting you" on this board!!  CONGRATS!!
