The UTC calculation was killing me.  Even if you are not familiar with UTC you should be able to deduce the time zone Moscow was in versus the rest of the country.  Watching Ryan blow up during the test solidified my opinion about him... DB!  At this point I am rooting for the two James' and the Beekman Boys.

Yeah, it was pretty anticlimactic.   I thought time zones were a pretty basic thing in adult knowledge, especially among a group of people who've been traveling for weeks...  I think they finally threw in the Moscow time for the people who clearly weren't getting it.  I might be flustered and it might take me a test or two, but it seemed pretty obvious.   Also, the clown who was administering the test, plus the pace, was distracting.

Otherwise, Beakman Boys were the luckiest EVER.  I agree, Twinnies should have tried the task.    What's another 5 minutes when you (1) have to use it this round, and (2) know you're not fighting for first.  Silly.  I LOVE the Chippendales!  So cute.  I feel very sorry for James and his ankle, they might even up being their downfall.  Hopefully they can wrap him up well enough to keep going, but I was worried when he said it was just getting worse.

The ankle thing was really weird to me...he said he sprained it in Shanghai yet we didn't see it affect them until now.  I get that doing lots of activity on a sprained ankle is BAD, but you'd think by now they could have bought some advil or iced/elevated/rested at pit stops and/or on the long flights.

I hope it doesn't affect them too badly for the rest of the race.  Hopefully nothing else is as intense on the ankle as that dance.  We're down to 5 teams, right?  So, at least 3 more legs...if there are no more non-elimination rounds.

I don't think the Beekman boys are going to make the finals.  They've done some REALLY good work but they've been so consistently in the bottom (reference the last pool task!) that I don't think they will miraculously come around.

With the previews for next week I can't help but think Abby and Ryan get the shaft on the flight thing again...

So I think final 3 are the Chippendales, Twinnies, and Trey/Lexi.

Double U-turn could totally throw that out of whack though...

This whole season is starting to feel like the game has taken on a new flavor.  Seems like every leg's eliination is based on a taxi, or flight, or passport or whatever.  Things seem to be getting too spread out from first to last.  But then the whole deck gets reshuffled the next leg due to some unusual mishap.  I would be frustrated as a racer.  You can be doing everything right and than POW you're done.

I just remember a couple of seasons ago a couple of ladies "seemed" to be in the lead and then got a driver that didn't speak English... in LA and they got lost and didn't win. They remarked that they went around the world and lost from a cabbie that didn't speak English in America. Who knows how close they actually were, but it was-certainly an odd bit of irony.

It definitely takes some luck to win...

The previous posts just made me realize that these contestants haven't driven themselves around very much this season...it's been all cabs, etc...I think the contestants having to drive themselves and/or walk as often as possible definitely evens the playing field at least in the good/bad cabbie department....I guess there are probably too many rules in most of these countries for them to drive themselves more often....

On what planet did Abby and Ryan think the Chippendales were their friends?

I do at least like the fact that the Chippendales really did have to search their conscious to decide whether to U-turn someone or not.  But, they DID make a deal with the other two, and I can't believe Abby and Ryan didn't realize that the three leading teams worked TOGETHER to make that happen...it was OBVIOUS when Trey and Lexi u-turned the one team that they were SURE had already been through the u-turn.  Abby and Ryan should be just as angry with Trey and Lexi.  And besides, if their flight hadn't been late they probably would have been able to still beat the Beekmans.  So, they can't blame their entire loss on the Chippendales.

Loved the cuffs and collars. :D

The one thing I really liked about this leg was that all five teams were on different flights...AWESOME.

The taller of the Beekmans is a total whiner...he really annoys me.  I'm glad they decided to go on...I know they feel attached to Abby and Ryan, but really...it's a RACE....it was nice of them to work together for so long....

Generally speaking the tasks didn't seem too hard for this leg.

Four teams left....which means two more episodes....unless there is another non-elimination leg...

I am now officially routing for the Chippendales for the win....if they can't win I'd like to see Trey and Lexi win.

Honestly though, I'd be OK with any of the remaining 4 winning...it actually almost says something that the Beekmans are still in this race...it isn't easy to survive at the bottom.  I wouldn't even mind if the Twins won.  They are a strong team, even if some might not like their morals...IMHO except for that ONE thing (the "stolen" money) they have played very honestly....

Normally I am all about using the rules, and things like U-turns, to your advantage.  However, I feel like I would use them to guarantee I hit the mat on that day and not an insurance for later.  So, I find the decision to "waste" the second u-turn a jerk move.    That is apparently my line, right or wrong.

Lexi's whiny voice has become worse, in my mind, than the Twinnies.  I am rooting for Jaymes and James for sure!  Then I hope Beakman's come from behind.  Between the last two, I actually like the twins better.  Ugh.

Well, it's an obvious "gang up".  Just like everyone working together on that bike challenge that inevitably got the cowboys elminated in their season...a group of teams wanted a certain team eliminated and worked together within the rules of the race to make that happen.

Not saying I agree with it...but it had the effect they desired.  I would think the producers should have had a rule or whatnot that insured you could not u-turn the team that had u-turned someone else (thus at least eliminating one "easy" way to waste the u-turn...you could still waste it if you were SURE another team was ahead of you but as we've seen in the past it isn't always easy to KNOW a team is ahead of you).  And that may be a rule in future seasons.  It would be easy afterall to program the monitor to prevent you from u-turning that one obvious team.  Just like we'd all like to see them ban "helping" each other so that another Cowboys situation didn't pan out.

I like to think I would only use the u-turn to make sure I got to the mat...and maybe in the early legs that would definitely be the case.  Early on you really don't want to give anyone a reason to put a target on your back.  But this close to the end when you KNOW the final leg will have you all racing together...you definitely want weaker teams joining you.  And if some want to draw the line at just "not helping" other teams, fine...but there are other resources in the race (u-turns) to help eliminate your stiffest competition...and nothing wrong with using them.

Maybe I'm just weird, but people are trying to inject day to day morals into something that is a GAME.  It's like playing poker...if you just waited for good hands to come your way you'd never really make any money.  You need to be able to strategically bluff (aka LIE) to get ahead.  Same thing on Survivor...I'm not sure there is a single player that has ever one that wasn't dishonest (in a real life perspective) about SOMETHING at SOME point.  I guess the difference is in realizing these shows are a GAME.  And as long as you play by the rules of the GAME then you really haven't done anything wrong...even if the viewers don't like what you did.

No kidding!  Me too!  All the times I've seen a team u-turn someone ahead of them and I though to myself, "what a waste of a u-turn".  Never occurred to me that you might WANT to waste the u-turn!  Heck, I could even see a team trying to waste the first of the two u-turns as an alternative way to avoid having to be the bad guys....

For example, in this case...what if the Chippendales had u-turned the Twins (they knew the Twins got the FF and wouldn't be at the u turn ever).  That would have left Trey and Lexi to have to u-turn Abby and Ryan...theoretically the same result without appearing to be the bad guys....as long as Abby and Ryan didn't beat Trey and Lexi to the u-turn (which was a fairly safe bet based on how far behind Abby and Ryan started).  Of course, that would probably have ticked off Trey and Lexi...but we're at the point in the race where friendships cease to matter as everyone begins to put coming in first above just getting to the mat.

Have to admit...this is REALLY late in the game for a double u-turn...Only 5 teams...a single u-turn would be plenty.

One more musing...I wonder how big of a lead the twins have in the next leg.  Has to probably be a few hours at least.  I mean, I guess we all know they will end up on the same flight for the final leg, but still...HAS to feel good starting with a couple hour lead on the second to last leg...if you can manage to be first for the final leg you at least ensure yourself the closest seats to the front of the plane on that final leg and that can be the difference between getting the last cab in line and having to wait 10 minutes for another one....

They are super popular here now.  Making all kinds of appearances at clubs and on local TV and have posters up all over town.  They can't divulge any information due to contract obligations.  BUT......

I know Jaymes Vaughan well enough.  Never met the other James though.  The wife did some photo shoots with Jaymes.  I think they even got "married" in one!  LOL...

I'm generally with you on that one. It is a game. And within the rules of the game you play. The Beekman whining about not wanting to leave the other team... give me a break, why are you playing then. The Chippendale with their tortuous decision to U-turn... it's a game... yes making enemies is something that must be taken into account, but it was the right strategic move for that time. You assure the other team is out, you assume the brothers are going to loose next, and you just assured yourself final 3. It was not a hard decision to make.

However, in all games their is "dirty" play that may not be against the rules. It's really tough to say when the line is crossed, but if YOU feel bad about it, that is probably a good hint... (Twins KNOWING it was wrong.) And in those circumstances, you might not have broke a rule, but the other players playing are not going to like it and there will be consequences... even if it just puts a target on your back, that's enough. So there is a way to level the karma field when things are not right.

Yes and YES!

Abby and Ryan and the Beekman boys got a bit too chummy with other teams and forgot that they are all competing for a LOT of money.

I figured when the Chippendales chose that challenge that the Chippendales skills would come out.  Didn't expect the collars and cuffs. YUM!

When did this become a team sport?

I am so frustrated at them working together and hanging on to one another.  Sorry but when we get on this show, we are not making friends.  Maybe that is the wrong strategy but the "What do you guys want to do?" and "we'll wait for you" is so annoying.
