lawyerchick - 2008-07-20 12:14 PM Wow - just saw that racer on the ground who took the corner too fast.  Youch!!  I hope everyone stays safe out there in the rain.

Yeah, she was the austrailian pro; not sure of her name. They said she was from Darwin.

WAY TO GO BT!!!  The commentators keep commenting on the pro climbing out of the saddle saying for some it's unprecedented...I wonder what's up with that?

GO BTers!!!!  You are all doing great.   What bummer weather...but you are all looking good.  keep it up and be careful out there!

Love the comment...seeing as I am live in the seattle area....and yes, I do ride in the rain.

Rhae Shaw leads the age group race
And is currently in third overall here today!

The woman from Seattle, Washington, is probably the only person here who can handle the incredible rain!

She did a 59:15 swim, and followed that up with a 5:34:44 bike.

Does anyone know if they publish how many Kona slots are designated for each AG for each race, or is that not completely determined until the awards?

If it is decided, do you see it anywhere on the IMLP website?

Great to read the updates!! Just got in from an XTERRA jockstrap and have been dying to see the splits.

I talked to Sue after Kathy was done with the swim and sounds like Kathy was definitely having a good time...looks like everything else is going well too! Woohoo--GO BT!!

If it is decided, do you see it anywhere on the IMLP website?

It is based on a percentage of how many athletes in each age group. So the larger age groups get a bigger % of the 80 slots. But every age group gets at least one slot.

Yep, I know that. But I was wondering if the breakdown per AG was determined by race day..and if so what is it?

Found this
on someones blog..accurate? who knows? It was just posted this year...so it's not last years info.

Yep that does look like last years. It is determined by race day and what is it? Well we will know after the race is over. The one thing I am not sure of is if it goes by finishers or entrants. I am guessing finishers but I bet Jeepfleeb will have the correct answer for you.
