I raced with no rain in 2009 - and plan to race again this year = no rain.

Yep, 2009 was dry - and the day before way HOT so it was actually the better day.

Last year, it just drizzled while I was on the bike and then it got pretty wet for a while on the run ...

A good reason to stay right at Deerhurst - at least for your spectators who can keep dry in between waiting for you ... that first year, I was soaked just watching the thing!

I've raced a lot of Tri's and this is my favourite course. It is always challenging...whether it is the hills, the wind, the water temperature, the rain, the temperature, ill prepared dietary measures of the racer, the hills...it's great.  But I've learned to always make it a singular focus of that part of the season.  Long course is easier, but often very cold, and the 70.3 just challenges you either to finish or to improve your time...and to finish.

I added 45 minutes to my Eagleman time because of the elevation change.  I am also 195 lbs.  On the upside of that 195, I can bench press about 22 Scott Plasmas at once.  Right....how useful is that when you only ride one! I get it.

Cheers. See you at the Deerhurst.

Just remember - it's not just the bike that's hilly.  That run is going to punish you a bit.  Run some hills over the next 5 months.

It says registration with the discount code opens at 12:01 PST on April 4, so I'd try it again first thing in the morning. Maybe the coupon entry field on the form will magically appear at that time.

Nope, still not there.  I sent them an email yesterday immediately after receiving that coupon code asking where it goes and never got anything back yet.

I signed up as well and am nervous as hell. Never done an IM, never done a triathlon! I have been training, know I can do the distances but not too sure about all on the same day... I have some work to do!

I am in one of many "leagues", some of which are above me and some of which are below. In the end, the "leagues" we are both in still obey the same principles: having fun, and achieving our personal goals.  See you at the finish line!

or perhaps at GL Sprint?

does anyone have the TSN coverage of previous years races? I have been searching but cant find anything. I find the race videos really encouraging and would love one of "my" upcoming race.

I have it on my PVR but not online.  Wish there was an easy way to convert it.

Also, if your planning on staying at the Deerhurst....ensure you call for reservations and don't do it online.  It won't give you the proper rooms available.  Make sure you do book well ahead though, they fill up fast.  I'm staying in the J.R. suites and I know there good to go, wife and I stayed in there last year for 3 days and it paid for it self.

The Deerhurst is way out of my budget.  Is it like $250+/night or something?
