Well we go most of the snow that they predicted and now we have the -28 wind chills and the wonderful drifting snow across the roads that they are doing a really good job of trying to keep up with.  My normal 30 minutes of commute was not more than 45 minutes and that was me playing it safe.  Only one person on the road that shouldn't have been from what I can tell and they were driving part on the shoulder and part on the road at less than half of everyone else.  And people wonder why accidents happen?

Yup same story here. Our wind chill is only -18 though.
I take less traveled roads to work so while there is probably more snow on them, there is much less traffic. Slow going for safety, my 10-minute commute was probably almost 20 this morning. Now the walk from my parking space to the front door? THAT was probably the most dangerous part of my day so far. Company has no issues snow plowing and salting/sanding executive parking (RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR), but the sidewalks where 1000s of employees walk has a foot of snow piled up.

Ah yes Iowa How I do not miss thee.  -40 on the bank thermometer the day I flew home for Christmas my first year of med school and 100+ in the summer.  Ick.

My asst is making me crazy. IF she goes any slower she will be in reverse...OK thanks for letting me vent

It's still snowing here and not showing any signs of letting up.  Almost NO ONE is in the office today and the only reason why I can make it in is because I walk to work... which is treacherous in and of itself!  There's no law or regulation here that says people have to shovel the sidewalks out front of their home/business so it just doesn't happen a lot of the time.  Thankfully I haven't fallen yet, but... I'm pretty sure I've just jinxed myself by writing that.

NO MORE WINTER!

We're seriously contemplating moving up our timeline for moving by a year... I don't know if I want to spend another winter dealing with this crapola!

Is this your assistant or an office assistant?  Either way, can you fire her and get one that will work?

She is an LPN and is not employed by me, she is employed by the clinic who is my employer as well, so no not much I can do about it as I had no say in hiring her either.  She is new to ortho but she has been here for over 6 months now.  Her normal speed is slow and this week has just been terrible.  I am crippled. There is no way for me to see more people because she is so slow.

Yes move to St. Pete Tampa so I have some one to play with!!

TAN needs to get more active.  I spend too much time in non-TAN threads and it makes me unbelievably frustrated.  HELP ME.

Agreeeeeee!

School just got cancelled for a THIRD day in a row. Really?! Listening to my co-worker discuss pro's and con's of cancelling for an outlying district as he sits on their school board.

I'm not there yet.... I just don't feel like doing anything today.  Good thing?  Two of the lawyers I work with are heading off to go snowboarding in Colorado tomorrow so I *should* be able to just coast for the last 2 days of the week.

We had up to 4' drifts because of the winds with the last snow.  Today it is a balmy -18 when I came to work with a wind chill of -30.  Would gladly take your 4 today.

I have been in Texas during a snow and watched the world come to a stop.

Sadly it may be relatively warm but it's been raining for days! I could use some sun!

On a brighter note: I'm almost done cleaning and rearranging my garage so I can put my new toys in it. Just got a wood lathe and a drill press. I need a fixed saw but I'm not sure if I should go with a mitre saw or a table saw first. Decisions, decisions!

I have been working with a trainer in the morning before work for the last three weeks. Since we have a limited time, we are hitting it hard, moving form exercise to exercise and she is wearing me out. I am suppose to get in a swim at lunch, but I am not sure that will happen!
