What, check that again. I can't believe that you have a bike missing from there

We need pictures of our bikes? I'll try to figure out how to post those. Do you want it with the kitten sitting on the aero bars or without the kitten?

Someone needs to tell me to go to the gym and do my run/strength/swim. It's 5 below right now and I have two cats on my lap to keep warm. Not sure I should disturb them.

Not need, but appreciated and KITTY KITTY KITTY please!

GO TO THE GYM. Do not listen to the evil warm cat whispers. Mine make them too. It's an inbuilt function in cats.

P.S. This is the abuse I had to suffer from mine all day. How am I supposed to get anything done with their highly contagious, nearly-insurmountable gravity attacks?

Need is a strong word, but yeah, we need it

Kinda like you need to get to the gym.

Okay, here's me:

I'm TJ

I live in a suburb of Albuquerque with my husband (DH) of many, many years and, currently at least, our two adult sons (DS1 and DS2) who are 25 and 24. We have 3 dogs (the brat pack) and 2 cats (the queens).

I've been a runner for a bunch of years and got in to triathlon in 2011 when my SIL talked me in to doing Tri for the Cure Denver (Robin what year was your first? I did 2011, 2012 and 2013). SIL was a one and done, I was hooked. Since then I've done countless sprints, some OLYs and a HIM.

Right now I'm focused on staying injury free and making it to the start line of the Colorado Marathon in May. As training for that progresses I'll think more about doing some sprints this summer/fall.

As for body comp... I'm a bit on the poofy end of my normal weight swing but will trim it down as marathon training progresses.

I'm excited to see all of the new Manatees. I hope you all will take full advantage of the support and friendship that can be gained in this group.

My cat always seems to find a way to settle in my lap 5 min. before I plan to get up and do something.  I swear she's in cahoots with our people-eating couch.

Robin, think of how comfy and guilt-free your nap will be after your workout at the gym.  That might help get you going.

I'm going to reset the DL this week.  Tom (knee), Hands (shoulder), Yanti (everything), Mary (hip/knee) -- if you need to be put back on the DL, please PM me. I'm thinking that Mary still needs to be on but maybe Tom and Hands can come off?  Yanti, what about you?

Has anyone heard from Darren?

Glad to hear you're taking care of your knee. It was a good reminder to me, too, that there is always time for the wise and healthy way.

I'm not seeing that pic.  Try again?

Oh, haha, I see it as it came through email.  Nice.

I'm on for knee only.  Hip has settled down, knee hasn't.  I guess that's progress....

(For the newbies, the DL is the disabled list)

INFO FOR NEW MANATEES

If you haven't figured it out, we talk a lot. :-) Fasten your seatbelts! Also, we tend to be an inspiring bunch (as in, we use the "inspire" feature of the site a lot). If you are not familiar with inspires, note that you can reply to them by clicking Reply. This pops out a new window for you to type your response so that the original poster can see it. Finally, most of us use the training log on the site (Yanti said that it's required: "Keeping up your training log here on BT and opening it to other group members is mandatory."). This makes it a lot easier for us to help each other when training questions come up. Here's a few shorts article on training logs: http://running.competitor.com/2013/12/training/why-you-should-keep-... http://www.active.com/triathlon/articles/10-reasons-to-keep-a-train... If you're not going to log or blog or whatever here on BT, please put a link to your training log in your BT Dashboard.

If you list your upcoming races on your training log -- by adding to My Races or listing them in Dashboard, we'll celebrate with you!

We have a Google+ community that we use on an irregular basis. Send your info to a returning Manatee (Janyne, Chris, Monica or Darren) and you will be added.

We have a Bike Gallery as well. Post a picture of your racing steed and draw Chris' attention to it. He'll get you added.

We have a Strava group too. Let Chris or Janyne know and we can add you.

Oh, we're on Twitter too...

In the past, someone in the Pod (Yanti, Chris, Janyne) has created a table listing all of the pod members with links to their logs. Once this handy dandy table has been created, feel free to copy/paste it to your own dashboard.

Please be active! Inactive Manatees make us sad!

Speaking of illness.... is it wrong that I thought of Your Yantiness often while reading Unbroken? Like everytime they mentioned a tropical illness?

I got cleared to do 1-armed swimming today (OH YAY GEE WHIZ THAT IS MY FAY-VOE-RIT), does that mean I'm off the DL? Ribs are looking good, the cracked ones are actually doing better than the bruised one, although standing up is still the most comfortable position. Elbow is finally improving after I REALLY GOT IT INTO MY HEAD that I am not supposed to USE it AT ALL. Move it, yes, do the approved resistance rehab exercises, yes.

Stace Face propped me up on a bunch of pillows after IMWA and I've slept a lot that way since. Until this week it just felt like there was too much pressure on my chest no matter which way I lay and where to put that pesky right arm?

Knee is almost back at 100% and it is finally covered in skin again.

Some cute Christmas posts from Dazzers but nothing since.

HAHAHA I'm reading that now too! (Just started). My sister probably has typhoid (again) and is definitely suffering from her repeated concussion but she won't stay put. Idiot.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
