My goal is also sub 4:50.  But that is not for the finish, that is just to be off the bike by then.....heh.

I have a real good feeling about this SOR group.  I can't put my finger on it, but there is an energy about us that just tastes like victory.

Or maybe its this picture I found in Jazzy's album???  Maybe she signed up for the wrong race?  Not sure.

Ok, im a  little late jumping in, but if Team SOR will have me ...

You're in!  Welcome.  Don't sweat the leg.  From your logs it looks like you are taking the smart approach to recovery.  Schmize and Whizzzz are both coming off of winter knee surgery and have both been very smart about not coming back too fast - and both doing well now.  I hope you have similar success!

And this gives me an opportunity to mention something else.  All the trash talking is meant in fun.  Sure, we'd all like to be dumpster and jazz going for sub 5 hr performances, but you know what?  Some of us will come in at 6.5 or 7+ hours.  That's fine.  The point of making this a challenge is to help motivate us to keep on track with our training over the last few months and then rise to the challenge on race day - regardless of what our individual goals are.  If you do that and your time is 7 hours then that's fantastic!  Nobody needs to feel like they are not worthy of being part of the challenge.

I would even say it doesn't matter if we win or lose as long as everyone is having a successful race, but the fact is that it is easy to say that when you are the team that is going to win.

AMEN to this!  It's really all about kickin' the tar out of Steelhead having fun in the spirit of Racine competition.  It's all about winning everybody doing the best they can according to their ability even if we have to cheat.  Let's crush Steelhead all push each other without letting up placing undue pressure on ourselves.  I hope we win  all just have a good time.

Scott, that's most excellent detective work!  And reminiscient of your defacing liberties with Whizzz's pic last year.  And, once again, it looks like you've managed to pick a girl that can pound the snot out of you.  Nice going.

BTW, I think in the way of matching them you need to post your "jessi pose" pic.

omigod, that picture is hysterical. I just snored water all over my keyboard and my co-workers think I'm nuts.

I agree, though, that you need to ante up and post your Jessi pic so I can garner your butt with a nice big M.

Jazzy is going to go sub 4:50? That's pretty awesome!

Edit: Damn.  Okay, I may have to eat those words after perusing Jazzy's log.  Holy crap!  My new goal for SOR is not to get beat by Jazzy.  Heh.

ahhh...she probably makes up that training log stuff while sitting on a couch stuffing her face with cheese curds... Jazzy:  "Hmmmmm....what will my training log read like today (stuffs a curd).....I know (stuffs a curd)....90 minutes on the bike at LT (stuffs a curd)...followed by a 6 mile brick...yeah, that's the ticket...that'll scare those SoR peeps when they read my blog (sinister laugh) "

For all of you who still question the ferocity of the badger:

"The badger does not usually seek to attack, but, when driven to bay, its great muscular power and tough hide render it a formidable opponent. Weighing up to thirty-five pounds when fully grown, badgers have an extraordinarily dangerous bite, which they are willing to use recklessly when threatened. Showing itself to be a dangerous adversary...."

 On the other hand....

"The Wolverine ...in appearance  resembles a small bear with a long tail. It has been known to give off a very strong, extremely unpleasant odor, giving rise to the nicknames "skunk bear" and "nasty cat.""

So dont mess/threaten a badger and dont be downwind of a wolverine...SOR should have no problem keeping ahead of the the steelhead wolverine.

Really now!!! Steelhead peps, we are getting out smack talked and the SOR crew aren't even talking up any serious smack yet. Surely we can at least fire back something less trite than cheese curd comments and college mascot comparisons?!?

Maybe Team SOR needs to start trash talking themselves. Its clear that Stealhead just does not have it takes.

Word!  And who doesn't love good squeaky cheese curds?  Or deep fried cheese curds?  That, my friends, is a power snack.  Mmmmmm...

Ok, im a  little late jumping in, but if Team SOR will have me and my injured leg, Im in.

I do want to remind everyone though that it is so easy to make fun of Wisconsin and it cheese (the cheese castle, fried cheese curds, etc) dont overlook the fierce and ferocious badger.  Although it looks small...its has very sharp teeth, almost fang-like and razor sharp claws...It would never back down from a wolverine and frankly, hands down, the badger would kick some serious wolverine a$$ in face to face combat.

Dont ever underestimate the badger (and team SOR)! (Unless you catch one after eating some of those cheese curds)

JT

Ok now we can rip on the overrated, overhyped Badger basketball team that made an early exit from the tournament, man you guys make this too easy

My goal is to beat my mentor Birkierunner. Seeing that SOR is earlier than Steelhead I will have an advantage and know how he does. If he goes sub 5, then I will have to go sub 5. If he blows up and goes say 5:15 then I will still go sub 5 to pad our teams victory

My pupil, you obviously haven't read the SoR/Steelhead data thread where we list our race goals http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=75950&posts=21&start=1

Sub 5?  Shoot, I'll have changed clothes and be on my 3rd serving of post-race food by 5 hours

Sub 4:30, SMOKIN!!! Wow, Even though we are in this heated challenge I hope you can do it. That would put you in great shape for getting a slot in Kona at Wisconsin!!

I am definitely doing the HIM at Racine, however I am not sure if I should compete in this.  This will be my 2nd or 3rd tri, probably 2nd, and my goal is really to finish and to get through the swim without getting kicked in the face, gut or other body part, LOL!!

but then again, can you make an entry for making it through the transitions while looking like a "disorganized  ... I dont know what I'm doing kind of triathlete".... because I will probably qualify for that specific competition, LOL!!
