Maybe something like.
Team athlete's foot
Team fallen arches
Team Planters warts
Team blister busters
Team worn out shoes  Hey, these are pretty good

how about: team ruptured achilles'

                 team torn meniscus

                team trimalleolar fracture

               team pulled hamstring

             team monster bunion

team chased by dog (ran out of good ER/ortho injuries)   or I could start looking up names of bones in the feet and name teams from them (though team sesmoid just doesn't do much for me)

Yikes! OK, throw me in with the newbies. I'm shooting for 45 miles in October. That's a big jump over previous months, but I'm heading into the final weeks of training for my first tri, so I've pretty much got to do it, right?

Sign me up for 40...I'm pacing my wife for her 1st half mary next month, but after that, it's pump up the swim and bike volume for a HIM next spring, so very little running after the half mary...but this will keep me motivated).

Any team will do...I'm flexible...gumby

And...you don't want to see my team lose...I have very ugly feet...3898_f_frodo1_thumb-1.jpg picture by salparco

Yes absolutely treadmill time counts... i know with the cooler weather it can be hard to got outside!

What about eliptical time/mileage? I'm still dealing with PF and can't run or walk yet :-(

Im all about making this inclusive so here is what I think.... yes elliptical counts ONLY if you state this is what you are doing when you determine your goals i.e

"Im doing 20 hours on the elliptical due to injury for the challenge"

Oh and its great to see so many people with injuries getting out there and working with it Very inspirational.... if anyone wants to participate and is in a similar situation just make it clear from the beginning and there will be no problems!

I'm pretty new here, so this is my first time signing up for a challenge. I'm not a runner yet, still doing mostly walking with short increments of jogging thrown in here and there. I'm in for 20 miles. I'd like to be on a team with MrsUSMC and/or lastcall2003.

Thanks!

gailg - 2007-09-29 8:41 AM This is the first challenge I've been tempted to join ... but I train with a coach and do absolutely everything he says, so even though I'm on a run-intensive program right now, it's probably not fair to say I'd be "challenging" myself (he is doing a good job challenging me though ... a year ago I couldn't run a mile, had surgery on both legs in January, and next week alone I have seven - yes seven - runs ranging from 15 min to 75 min including 3 at 6700 feet elevation ...). Can I be on the cheerleader squad for y'all instead of participating? If necessary, I can prove my worthiness by my willingness to post photos ...

Well if you have your plan for the next month then Id said check in the with the coach and committ to the plan. That will make sure you stay consistent ALL month

Otherwise absolutely come and cheer... inspires and support are all a part of helping people reach their goals!!!!

Just an update... Ive just tallied up and we have 77 BTers (oops 78 better not forget myself this time!) entered for the challenge to date! Very impressed... as mentioned earlier i will make sure the team are up and posted with their own threads for Monday AM USA time.

I have all of the team requests and goal committments to date and will make sure each of the teams have a tracking spreadsheet to make life nice and easy for the team leaders (as determined by the team of course!)

Roll on October and lots of running fun!

And if you want to sign up just post below!!! Open to everyone so keep em coming!!!!

Wow! This is going to be fun! And in the spirit of complete uprontedness, I have to say that I have a recovering broken toe. I've been able to run on it a few times but it's been acting up. I'm ignoring it for now, but if I end up having to get it looked at I may be on the eliptical instead of the streets. :-(

Will get my 50 miles either way!

I am going to have to agree with Sappho - I HATE YOU KAT!

I'm in for 50 miles. That is a HUGE endeavor and challenge for me. I had better make it. 40 is doable - 50 is a challenge, and that's the point, right?

I'm in.  If Spokes is going to do 150 then so shall I.

Interesting...not sure how to take that one. Did you just throw down the gauntlet?

Just a friendly challenge....A little pressure always helps...right?
