Well, sorry the long delay in reporting something. Lots of things to do and take care of. The swim for the Double was much clearer than for the Triple, we had a little fog yesterday for them. This morning was very clear at 7:00 a.m. for the start. On the other side of the house, WE HAVE A VERY FAST FRONT PACK RACING THIS YEAR. Usually the lead biker would finish sometime in the afternoon. This year, Beat Knechtle was off the bike 7:41 this morning, followed by Gina Vandiver 10 minutes behind him. Very talented and very strong biker she is. We have quite a few Triples on the run now. We will be posting updates as we get them from the timers. as for the emails, keep them coming. I have not been able to respond back to you, however we have been printing them off and handing them to your racer. there are many items to take care of so please bear with us. | Master 2233 Mechanicsburg, PA | Subject: RE: Virginia Triple Iron Field update - 6:30PM EDT local time: Tom is 130 miles into the bike with a race time of 11.5 hours (currently getting a massage). Tony is a few miles behind him with the same elapsed time. Gina is about 46 miles into her run (past the half way mark by a bit) with a total race time of 35.5 hours. Everyone is in great spirits! Don't forget, you can send messages to the racers via [email protected] - put their name in the subject. The race director was teasing Gina that she's going to owe him a ream of paper by the time this is done  And Hollis wants to know if she can go to the bathroom... As of 8pm EDT, Gina was finished with lap 26 of the run...which I think means she only has a marathon to go. The run is a one mile out and back, right? Gina is a STUD. It looks like all the double folks are still on the bike....but getting there! I feel lazy that I'm about to go to bed right now and they are going to run all night! |
