You gets get to talk about all your warm and fuzzy weather!!!
Supposed to do my last long run tomorrow.
Temperature is expected to be a high of 2F plus windchill.
The longest indoor track in calgary(~~500m) is closed this weekend for a meet.
Will try to run a bunch of it outdoors, and then treamdill or smaller tracks somewhere.

Current Calgary weather is 0F with windchill of -11F.

BRRRRR!!!!  If it makes you feel any better it will be raining and cold (for us) tomorrow morning on my long run.   Stay safe and as warm as you can in -11F!  wow.  it will make Vegas feel warm no matter what the temperature is that day!

Family coming to our house, this weekend will be spent cleaning and then shopping...I'm with you Julia, unplanned thus far except in my mind.  I'm sure I should have some sort of excel flow chart spreadsheet, but I am not that organized.

I can totally tell you aren't a windows user...an excel flow chart? huh?

Fry a turkey my way Fatty.  I've always wanted to try one!

why do you hate mac users???

I don't hate Mac users, I'm married to one......I actually contemplated a MAC until I realized running TP and the CT were going to be a huge PIA.  Now, I am off to find a new PC...

We are MAC haters in this part of the world... It's direct competition is also my wifes employer!  The same company that allowed her 5+ months off of work to be with Avery!  We "never" use Google, I don't have an Iphone, I don't use an Ipod.... Dang I am not very supportive I guess! But I do have Window 7 does that count?

Wasn't Windows 7 your idea?

Good Morning!  hope the weekend is starting well for all.  I'm loosening up my typing fingers in prep for IMAZ resistration!  Woot!

I have a question for all of you that know more about bikes that I do...which is all of you!  I had my bike fit, and the guy says I'll fit on the Specialized Transition.  Not his first choice, but very doable.  Question is does anybody know the difference between the Specialized Transition Pro, Expert and Comp?  At the risk of sounding like a real idiot, the technical stuff isn't all that clear to me.

Also, I'm pretty sure I want a compact double, and I don't believe the Specialized comes with it.  What am I looking at, both $$ and brands, to swap out?

Thanks for any and all adivce and input!!!

Oh, and fried turkey is the best.....whenever we host, that's deal!   This year, we're at the in-laws.  With no daughter - she's at her boyfriend's parents.  Egads.

LIES! What kind of phone do you have, Mr Birdy??

Rob, still thinking of you and your brother...

Linda, (I think) the big differences between the Specialized models come down to component spec (SRAM Red vs. Ultegra, etc.) and the quality of the carbon used for the frame. I think they all come out of the same mold. The carbon will affect the weight and stiffness of the frame, but to be honest, I'm not sure that most people would be able to tell the difference. Unless you're really cranking out the watts, a stiff frame may be more detrimental to ride quality than whatever benefit you get from better power transfer. Oh, and color... make sure you pick one that you like looking at!

Transition is a pretty good bike, I believe that is what Doug and Tracy are riding and what Sam will probably be picking up after x-mas.

As far as the differences, I belive the Expert and Comp are the same frame just different components (from what I read), the Pro has a bit of a different frame, bigger BB and maybe a bit different Carbon and better components, IMO not worth the extra price for the frame difference.  I would look Expert or Comp.

IMO they are cheap with the components on this bike.  Shimano Ultegra on the Expert Rival on the Comp, for a 2600 - 3000 bike I would want Rival or Dura Ace, but I guess that's the way most bikes are outfitted these days.

If they dont' come with a compact crank I would check with your LBS about switching out the cranks maybe do an even swap or charge you a bit more but not full retail on them.

nah, they're the same....  and i don't think there are any differences in the carbon as far as i can tell in the FACT detail.  ryan may know more...

Speaking of storms, I ran in one this morning that seemed to follow me the whole way.  Anyone else's HRM record super low numbers when you are drenched, cold and shivering?

SSMinnow - 2010-11-19 5:52 AM So, it's the big weekend before the Holiday festivities begin.....what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? cooking? or stuffing yourself (like George!)? traveling? staying home?

I'm 99% done with the shopping for my annual Thanksgiving feast.  Just need to pick up the bird on Tuesday for brining.  Small group of people at our house, Paul's parents and brother and my mom.  Coop will be the highlight this year.

We had puppy class #2 last night.  We're learning "praise without food" and "down".....pretty funny to watch the range of intelligence of canines.  Of course, I think Coop is the best!

I usually cook up the goods for turkey day and host the family.  This year we packing up the goods and heading to my parents house since my dad is not very mobile these days.  Should still be lots of fun.  THe most important part of the meal will be accomplished since we will all be together.

Tough day out there today. got in a 90 minutes run outdoors, and was pretty much frozen stiff the whole time. Ar run time is was 0F with a bit of wind. So was happy to get hat much in. Went to the gym with michelle and ran on a 200m track for a while. Chatted with my cocach and she gave me a bit of an interval workout to run.
So got in a decent run today, but it was supposed to be my last long run, and I am abit worried as I don't feel like I got my last one in. And my last 20 miler(ok John 19.88) sucked royally.

What is an EMS unit? Yeah, I'm having fun tracking a few peeps too!

When not doing that, I'm bustling and cleaning and figuring out what the H#(( to make for dinner the next three nights. I don't feel the cooking bug. I'm also watching it snow off and on, sort-of hoping for a big dump of white stuff, but also hoping the kids don't have a snowday tomorrow (we're snow-tards around here and they cancel school for the littlest amount, it feels like)!

Easy time-killer sitting here watching AZ.  My kids are totally disgusted that I'm spending time WATCHING races now.  Ah, well.  Niners weren't any fun, and I really don't want to be doing paperwork that I should do....so.   Fun time sin AZ, and I'm so excited for 2011!!

Suzy - what's an EMS?
Kyla - SNOW!  How cool!  We got hail last night.....but no snow.  Just really cold rain.

On my bike thoughts.....is the Shimano Ultegra a good drivetrain?

Have Ultegra on one bike and Dura-ace on the other.  Cannot tell the difference at all.  Ultegra has been a great drivetrain for me!
