Regular 980 Caerphilly, Wales, uk. | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014--CLOSED (begging & bribes MAY work) Doesn't Wiggle.co.uk still deliver to Oz? Whenever I read reviews of products in looking to buy on their site there are always reviews from people in Oz commenting on how quick the delivery service is etc. I don't know what the price would be, or if they are different prices shown when you access the site from Oz compared to the UK. What size are you Stacey. I'll keep an eye out for any deals. |

Regular 980 Caerphilly, Wales, uk. | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014--CLOSED (begging & bribes MAY work) Www.sportshoes.com deliver to Aus for 15 quid. They have several types of Brooks Adrenaline shoes at around 20 quid. Cost + shipping combined would set you back about 72 Aud for a pair. If you're worried about returns/sizing issues, or the cost of returns, could you order 2 different sizes and sell the one you didn't want on eBay etc. I don't know what the tax system is in Aus, and whether or not this would be an option. |

Master 10208 Northern IL | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014--CLOSED (begging & bribes MAY work) Originally posted by StaceyK I have a shoe question for you all. I am yet to find a pair of really really comfortable running shoes. The worn in pair that I have are ok but not great, my new pair (same type as my others) will probably be ok eventually but still feel a bit hard. I know to find shoes that are good for you you need to experiment a bit but shoes in Australia are so very expensive. For example my Brooks Adrenaline's if the Brooks US site would ship to Australia then I could pay $110 for a pair (full price) but in Australia they are $250 a pair and this is fairly standard for decent running shoes. At these sorts of prices at most I can afford to buy new shoes maybe every 6 months. Also most stores here seem to have a no return policy once the shoes have been worn. Really I don't feel that I can tell if a shoe is gonna be ok until I have run in them a couple of times, so how do you get around this. Do US stores have better return policies as well as better prices or do you guys face the same problem? I don't want to end up with a cupboard full of handily worn shoes while I search for the right pair. Stacey, I've used Running Warehouse for shoes the last few years. I don't know if they ship to Australia, but their Shoefitr application has been a tremendous help in sizing. Find a shoe you're interested in, then put a shoe you're familiar with into the Shoefitr and it will tell you how the new one fits relative to the old. It has both 2D and 3D color coded modeling for it. At the least it could help with identifying shoes that will fit. And they've been very good with returns too. Had to once or twice which is actually rather impressive with how particular I am. |

I want to move out of the Midwest so very badly. I hate this season and I am getting tired of it. This year has been the worst in a long time. It's like winter will never end! And because of the stupid snow and ice and cold, I have had to put the brakes on training for a bit. Yesterday coming into my house from the garage I slipped and fell on some ice that was covered by snow on our sidewalk and fell completely on my left side and whacked my head really good on the pavement. Ouch! This is bad because my left shoulder isn't in the greatest of shape anyways and now it is just terribly painful. And my left leg and my left elbow hurt like hell (I have giant bruises). I really did a number on myself. I was so sore today, I couldn't even think about going to the gym. Plus it's so snowy and the roads are so bad it makes it almost impossible to get there anyways! Uggghhhhh will it ever be over? On a more positive note, I have switched my schedule at work to where I am going in earlier and leaving earlier 3 days out of the week so that I have more time in the afternoons to train. Super pumped about that! Ashley Originally posted by cdban66 Monica, I noticed you have a timeline for moving. Do you have a destination yet? I hear it is lovely in the Orlando area this time of year... We DO have a timeline for moving! Though we're not sure if we'll be moving that timeline up by a year or not as neither one of us is all that enthralled with spending another winter in this crapola. Ideally, we'd like to be closer to my parents for when they live in Casa Grande, AZ during the winter - which sadly means that I don't think FL will fit that bill... We're contemplating Austin (we may or may not have been looking at places in Austin already...), SoCal, or somewhere in AZ - just not sure which yet. A lot will depend on what kind of job Tony can get, or if his current company would allow him to work remotely. Wherever we end up... NO MORE WINTER!! Ouch! Take care of yourself. I hope that you are feeling better this morning. Great news about the work schedule! Chris and I both work until 4:00. I think that it's awesome! Plus I'm not a morning person and this gives me an hour or more before I have to actually speak to anyone |

You can get Adrenaline's (the current version) for around$110-120 here and last year's version for less. Any decent running store here (or at least Florida) will let you return the shoes even after you've worn them a few times. Same here. Plus the mail order places will let you return them as well (Running Warehouse, Road Runner Sports, etc.). We need to hook you up with one of these places! ETA: Running Warehouse ships to Australia. They said that not all brands can be shipped to all countries so contact them first Road Runner Sports also ships to Australia but flat rate shipping for orders less that $1,000 is $60. Ouch! Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014--CLOSED (begging & bribes MAY work) Stacey - Ben is right on with the shoefitr at Running Warehouse. It has helped me be prepared before I went and tried stuff on. I'm a bit particular about shoes, having screwed up my knee a couple years ago, so I like to be prepared. I know this suggestion is going to hurt, but if you find a pair that you really like, it might be beneficial to buy a few more pairs. You can sometimes find coupon codes or even clearance deals when shoe manufacturers roll out the new models, so if you time it well, you can save a few bucks. And at $250 a pair, every bit helps. Good Luck!!!! Janyne - I am currently on late shift, due to some staff pregnancies. So, I morning run, which I prefer anyway. Less traffic. I'm awake most days by 5:15, so I morning run a few times a week, no matter what. I do like leaving at 4 though, especially with bike training starting for me soon. We are going through our yearly staff/department "adjustments" so we'll see what happens. But from what I've been told, this one may get me to a better place, more tech and less managing a production department. And a bit more flexibility for training, if it works out OK. I have to see the pool soon, I'm trying to remember what swimming feels like. Marc - If you see 1 in 20, then you are lucky. I ride home solo a couple times a week when I am biking and I see at least 2 or 3 times that. I have changed my route to keep me off the highway as much as possible, but I still think it is only a matter of time before someone hits me. Another reason I am a fan of the group ride. At least if I get hit in that scenario, there will be help around. And please don't encourage Yanti to post the pics. I feel woefully inadequate when she does. Speaking of Yanti and pictures, did ya'll see the Kingsley/Yanti Black Tie picture? Wow. No wonder she hasn't been in here much lately And BTW, for those of you that are wondering, Jonathan rocks!!!! Thanks man. No excuses now.

(I've heard a price increase of anything from $10 - $40 is in the works... I'd be okay with a $20 increase - anything less than $100 for the year for shipping, but anything more than that and no, I'm out.) |
