enders_shadow - 2013-03-27 6:25 PM A month away from my first tri of the season - yeah! And I'm looking at buying a tri bike (not for the sprint that I'm doing in April...but now that I'm looking at the longer distance races, it may be worth the lay out). Found a sweet used one, great price, on the internet here in my area (so I could even test it out) but it's too big. Bummer.

Carytown Bikes has a sweet trade in deal right now, but as you need your bike for the RTC Sprint it wouldn't work for you.  They are allowing people to take in their old bikes and posting them on line for them.  They are keeping a commission fee but applying the remainder of the sale to a new bike.

Even if the timing worked, I don't want to go without the roadie...I want to keep Baby and add a tribike. Can you even imagine? I'm going nuts.

Makes perfect sense to me =)  Good luck on your bike search !

In keeping with the rule that the ideal number of bikes = n+1 where n is the number of bikes currently owned.

And on that front I've FINALLY sorted my tri bike.  I managed to get 20% knocked off the price by getting it without the wheels, and they agreed to throw in the saddle that I want.  Then my husband somehow negotiated a further 20% reduction (I have no idea how he does it, but he's really good!).  So it's a bit of a steal...  Picking it up tomorrow.  Photos to follow Laughing

Awesome !  Congrats on the new bike !  I'm going back and forth on 2 bikes as I wait for one more shipment and the price diff becomes less and less...hope to make a decision soon as well =)

Managed to get in 5k at the pool yesterday.  I may actually start to like swimming again.  Down a pound or two so far this week.

Got in my last swim of the month today.  And I am down to 138 pounds!!  Whoo hoo!  Of course, it will be interesting to see where my weight is at on Monday after Easter weekend.  Wink

After being laid out by a stomach bug for the past week, I ended up the month down 4 lbs from where I started.  I know much of it is water weight but I'll take what I can get!  Final total is 272.

I do hope this group continues on and that you let me continue to lurk with you.  Regardless, my thanks to everyone for participating in it the way that you did.  I know it seems a silly thing to say but this was the first group that I have been a part of where I felt like everyone has real life and realistic challenges that they had to overcome in order to train - and, for so many of you, wildly succeed.  Though life didn't cooperate for most of the past couple of month, I feel, for the first time in a long time, like I can manage to fit everything in and succeed again.

Short swim yesterday, TRX today!  And best of all the weather is looking up.  I can feel Spring in the air despite the snow on the ground.

Have a great Holiday weekend everyone.

Weight up a little to 158.  Probably just a lot of water retention because I ate soup for dinner last night.  I was actually 155.6 yesterday morning and ate normally through the day.

This mini contest was good motivation for me...any thoughts on another month?

Weight today was 74.1kg, which is up 0.5kg from yesterday (that's what happens when you go out for dinner the night before weigh in!).  But it's down about 1.5kg from the start of the month, so it's all good.

Do we want to start a new weight loss challenge for April, or just continue the one we're doing?  I'll be setting a new goal, but I can add that into the current table.

Picked up my new bike today, so here's the first photo of my new baby:

Bike & a swim today; tomorrow is a "rest" day, but I'm running a 5K with my 8-year old. After that I'm going to a bike-maintenance clinic. Whoo whoo!

Love your new ride!!

Now that my marathon is over, I would like to join in on the weight loss challenge.  I'll do the official weigh in on 4/1 if that's ok.

Love the colors of your new bike, it's beautiful.

I'm at 143 lbs today, up a lb from last week.   Since I'm nowhere near my weight goal I'll be continuing, with more focus, in April with the weight loss challenge.

Nice bike Rachel! Hopefully it will stop snowing soon in Great Britain so you can get her outside

Spring is in the air here, so I am looking forward to a nice longish ride outside on Sunday. Also my oldest son is visiting this weekend for the holiday. He lives about 2 and a half hours away and I don't get to see him as much as I would like. Should be a fun weekend!

I am down another 2 pounds, which is probably why my running is feeling good.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Weighed in at 168.9 today.  Excited because I have a 4 day weekend for the Easter holiday.  Have 4 decent days scheduled to kind of gauge where I am as I head into my Ironman specific plan.  3 bricks and a long run .  Have a great weekend all!

As far as weight challenge, I'm in.  I'm fine with starting fresh.  New start weight and new goal.
