So do you highball the numbers initially, then come down so you seem reasonable/willing to compromise, or do you lowball to start and then keep adding extra 'essential' components?

You guys are too much.

I only have a sec, popping in quickly to let ya'll know that I think I ate a bad poptart and had my colon pretty much fall out of me for the past 36 hours.  I'm finally able to keep down water and pepto now, but it will be a few days before I get any kind of strength back methinks.

Not going to have a chance to do last week's workout for a few days.

Eric, if you post another one I promise I will do them both next week.  Don't punish people because of a bad batch of poptarts.

Happy Hump day.  Avoid those splintery fence posts.

Blaming the poptarts huh?!?! I accept your compromise and everyone will be watching for TWO swim workouts next week Glad you're feeling better, hope it's all behind you!

Here's this weeks workout, it's a mix of speed/drills. Focus needs to be on increasing stroke/pull efficiency.

1900 yds/m
WU: 1x200 swim
WU: 1x200 kick/swim x25
WU: 4x50 build 10" rest
Main: Repeat 2 times
Main: 4x50 15" rest swim golf
Main: 4x50 15" rest fist drill
Main: 1x100 FAST - focus on long & strong stroke.
Main: 1x100 easy
WD: 1x100 easy

For swim golf, count your strokes for the 50 and add it to your time. Yes this requires thinking and focus but it's a good way to know where you're most efficient.  If you take 30 strokes and it takes you :45, your score is 75. Goal is to lower your score as much as possible which will require you to slow down your stroke rate!

I made a really tasty dinner last night, and it was too delicious not to share.  It's chock full of loads of yummy veggies.  It's really easy to make, and the best part is you can make it ahead of time!  So at the end of a long workout when you're tired and starving (and want "real" food) but don't quite have the energy to cook, you can pop this in the oven to heat up and you're all set.

Stuffed peppers with quinoa + black beans
(From - http://www.linseycorbin.com/node/467)

Ingredients
2 cloves of garlic - minced
1 yellow onion - diced
2 celery stalks - diced
salt, pepper, cumin, hot sauce - to taste (I also added some cayenne pepper)
2 cups spinach - chopped
1 large can (28oz) of diced tomatoes
1 can black beans - rinse & drain
2 cups of water
1.5 cups of shredded carrots
3/4 cup of quinoa
1/2 cup of shredded pepper jack/cheddar/whatever kind of cheese suits your fancy
4-6 bell peppers

To make:
1. Saute onion, garlic, celery and seasonings in pan for 10 minutes or so.
2. Add fresh spinach and saute until cooked down.
3. Meanwhile, strain diced tomatoes and save the liquid.
4. Add diced tomatoes and cook another 5 minutes or so.
5. Add black beans, quinoa, carrots and 2 cups of water.
6. Cover with lid and let cook about 20 minutes or until the quinoa is soft.
7. While you wait: Turn oven to 350. Then, cut in half and remove seeds from peppers.
9. Add cheese to mixture and stir well.
10. Fill a pyrex with reserved tomato juice.
11. Stuff peppers with filling and lay in pan. Cover with foil.
12. Bake for 1 hour (I only left it in for 45 min). Go lift weights, walk the dog, or clean the house.
13. Remove foil, sprinkle with a bit of cheese and bake another 10 minutes or so.

Enjoy!

Well, I finally had some free time at work to get on the net (BT specifically) and our dadblasted internet server was out/down!  Then I come into a chaotic morning and finally after a 46 week hiatus (or so it would seem) I am FINALLY up to date on the posts... too far behind to comment specifically... so,

Good job, get well, way to go, suck it up buttercup, LMAO, & you're nuts!  Should just about cover all the posts (excluding fence posts) that I missed!  Insert where appropriate!

This group has been putting up some great numbers... As the old mg peeps know, it is not like me to be this far removed... so hopefully work (and home computer issues) will work with me a little more and I'll stay better connected.

We are having some awesome weather today... totally wishin' I had taken the day off to go out and ride... perfect riding weather!
