Happy Thanksgiving MG!

What am I thankful for - I am thankful for so many things!
But the top of my list (and heavily favored) Family and Health.

Today I am fortunate to run a race with my husband and kids + a lot of family who have come to NC for Thanksgiving.
I am also very fortunate to be sitting down at the Thanksgiving table today with 12 family members that I love so deeply.
This is the first Thanksgiving where so many of us will be together.....I couldn't be happier, and feel more blessed!

Hope everyone has a great day...Canadian friends included
(Rob still have you & your family in our thoughts

I am not as winterized as the Canadians so no racing for me today.  Going to go knock out a free 1 hr run though in a few minutes, it's a bit warmer now and stopped raining.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!

The turkey trot is in the books.  A "blazing" 24:31 for me.  Had to be a SHORT course ... I think it was supposed to be 3 miles and may have fallen a little short of that, but I did put in a good effort.

Pretty damm demoralizing when a barefooted dude cruised by me pushing a stroller.

Congrats Barry.. Don't sell yourself short on your efforts!  Because you had a faster time doesn't make the course shorter!  Nice job!
Happy Turkey Day to all!  We woke up here in Seattle with some fresh snow!! And still snowing!  This is rare for us!  HOWEVER I love it, but by days end they say 40+ degree's and raining!

Hi gang. Thanks so much for all your support during the past couple of weeks. You don't know how much it meant to me. My brother is back at home and while he has a long recovery still ahead he is out of danger.

Back home in Ontario now and it is so warm here. A bout 3 degrees C. When I left Calgary it was -.26 with a wind chill to -.36. I don't care where you live that is d@%% cold!!! Of course not thinking straight I went out to Calgary with out my winter boots. Only my web top runners. Amazingly my feet didn't get cold.

Met with Trevor while out there and had a great talk. We tried to take a picture but the camera froze.

Got a swim in today so I think I am back on track for training.

Once again thanks for all your support. Love you all

Sugar. Trevor is the only one that knows about us shhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hi Gang!  Had a nice Thanksgiving with a small portion of our small family!

Rob- Glad to see you are back in action. How did everything hold up with the shoulder on the swim? I hope everything is better on the family front.

George-surgery rescheduled? is that a huge letdown when something like that is cancelled?

It is COLD here too...taking the dog out at 5:30am at 16F and 20mph winds isn't so nice.  I don't complain or Paul points out that I wanted the furball.

Enjoy the free Friday!  No malls for me, but maybe a little cyber shoppping!

swimming went well. The only time my shoulder hurt was when I hoisted myself out of the pool. It is only certain actions which cause me trouble and the swim stroke, fortunately, isn't one of them. I forgot how much I enjoy swimming having not been in the water since mid Sept.

Happy belated Turkey Day!! Ours was/is AWESOME!!! We have about 13 additional people staying here and a few at hotels, hanging out here by day. Awesome turkeys. Yes, plural. Cooked up an 18-pounder to eat, and a 16-pounder for leftovers. My apple cream pie (Granny Hupfeld's recipe) was declared by some as "the best pie they have ever eaten." So I made another one today to make sure we'd have enough for leftovers. Snow has melted, temps warming up, life is great.

Running a half marathon on Sunday. Running the finish of it on Saturday with the kids, who have a 1.2-mile kid's marathon as the grand finale for their running club for the fall. Legs feel extremely rested -- has been tough to get runs in and one got cut short due to bad conditions and the Y closing early (when I was on the treadmill -- they were turning off lights and I was trying to log a few more steps, ha ha!).

Playing tons of games. The youngsters (20-somethings) keep making liquor-store runs and boozing it up. They were up until 2:30am last night -- I can't keep up.

Hubs threw his back out on Tuesday and was totally incapacitated for a few days, but is slowly getting back to normal. I had to put on his socks for him today, but at least he used the potty unassisted in the middle of the night, so that is huge progress. I've had way too much of a close-up of what it will be like to grow old with him, ha ha!!

All right, just ducking in for a quick hello and it's back to the relatives. I LOVE this time of year and just thrive on the energy. It's so awesome. My family rocks.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, folks!!!

Home! I had a good run today -- definitely a course PR by about 3:00, but not a life-time PR. Just found the results and I was a 1:50:57. Felt really good running, just found a pace and settled in. I pulled back in the middle a bit (maybe too much?), and then the course is super-duper hilly the 2nd half. Around mile 10 I realized I might have a bit too much in the tank, so I tried to pick it up. On the last mile (around 12.7 miles) I was definitely dragging, so I think I left as much out there as I could!! I pretty much suck going up hills, but so it goes. I feel good about the run and my body feels pretty good too.

It's been a super exhausting weekend around here. I abstained from the booze with  my younger cousins, but stayed up way past my bedtime every night. And doing meals for 20 peopls every night, even with leftovers and kitchen help, is downright tiring. Feet were sore every night for sure. Still have 6 houseguests, everyone else leaves tomorrow. It's been an amazingly awesome weekend. Love it. Love my fam. Love life. It's all good!!!
