Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge Morning Hipsters! I've skipped the "good" because little has gone right for me so far today. Thankfully, swimming has been my shining bright spot. 2200m (left my watch, phone, and PDA at home so I won't be able to log my splits until tonight.) I've got a "40%" century planned for this weekend, but it probably won't happen until Sunday morning. Let's get out there and wipe out the remaining zeros on our spreadsheet! |

Veteran 299 | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge I should be getting a 45 mile ride in Saturday(as long as the rain stops). Then on Sunday I am just going to run until I don't feel like running anymore. That should be anywhere from 6-10 miles. |

Veteran 242 Reading, Berkshire (UK) | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge hi guys, I've just updated your spreadsheet and I'm afraid I've had to replace the old version with the new one (there was just too much copying and pasting involved otherwise, and it's been quite time consuming as it was). here's the link: So I'm very sorry if this has just broken the link in your lovely (but not quite as cool as the internationals!! ) links table, but it has saved my sanity and probably also my marriage! Please check the details and make sure all the times entered are correct (I did try to copy them across correctly!). The method of calculating the average has changed - it's now an average of each individual's average, rather than an average of each discipline's average. This is more balanced, because otherwise the strength average was counting for a quarter of the result. Any questions, let me know! cheers, |

Does this mean that we have to separately log/calculate each weeks total? that's such a pain! |

Yes -- because the bonuses only apply to the week in which the multi-sport training/race occurs, weekly tracking is the only way to correctly work out the extra credit. Sorry! |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge This thread's been very quiet today. I hope that means that everyone has been out piling on the miles! I didn't get my ride in today, but I'll go out tomorrow morning. Remember, today is the last day of week one. Make sure you put everything you've done onto the spreadsheet. |

Veteran 147 SC | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge I had a good training week. I was able to get in my 10 mile run today ahead of the thunderstorms. I'm supposed to ride/run in the morning, but it's raining very hard right now so I'll have to see how things work out. The spread sheet looks good. Keep up the hard work Hipsters. BH |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge Quiet from me because of training. I did a half century today, so I am over halfway to my bike goal already. I think that's probably going to get increased by the end of the month. |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge I got in my 40 miler today. Not fun. Last week my ride felt like dancing on the pedals. Today it felt like a forced march. I started out feeling not so energetic...and then the wind started. The last 20 miles was into a headwind. I was so glad to get home and off the bike. Since you all seemed to like my photo from last week's ride, I was looking out for something to post today. The theme for today is "surreal". Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge We're in 2nd place right now at 31%. The first place team has 36%. We still have a LOT of zeroes on our spreadsheet. We need to make those disappear this week! |

Master 1639 Robbinsville NJ | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge 2nd place, not too bad but I know we can do better! Rough weekend for me working out wise what with Mom's day and all If I could count chasing a 3 1/2 year old up and down a windy, freezing boardwalk I could probably log 5 or 6 more miles. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: East Coast Hipsters - May "President's Cup" challenge Second is nothing to complain about. Now that Relay for Life is over, I'll be able to get some more training in. My foot isn't too bad but still can't do any real long distance on it. Plan on hitting hte pool this week, hopefully twice. |

If so..do you know that they are closed from this Friday through the next Friday to get ready for the summer Not sure where I am going to swim...let me know if you have any suggestions. How did the Relay for Life go? I wanted to come and participate but had some family issues that came up. Did you have a good turn-out? |

I have been through back issues and nothing gets you down like that. Be smart and I believe that if this challenge is like the others I have done you can (with approval) get your totals adjusted because of injury. Steve |

How did the Relay for Life go? I wanted to come and participate but had some family issues that came up. Did you have a good turn-out? Yes, it was a nice turnout. This year I actually got to see more of it since I was not stuck behind the luminary table. It sure is fun to walk around and see all the activity and good spirits. Things ended early on Saturday, I'm thinking the bad weather during the night may have had something to do with it. I have not swum at Collins Hill. I usually swim at Mountain Park. I guess I better check to see if they are going to be closing for any period of time. I have not swum in a couple of months so I haven't paid attention. Worse comes to worse i can now swim in our neighborhood pool, but that would be cold and dodging any brave kids who want to get in the pool now. |

Bummer. I guess I better get in some swims tomorrow and Wednesday. Then I'll go in the freezing outdoor pool. |
