Yes, I would much rather eat veggies full of pesticides and grown in sh*t and chicken filled with steroids who eat sh*t.

Whatever. Synthetic "food" isn't food. At least I know the chicken was a living, breathing entity before it died and ended up on my plate. Besides, you can always buy organic or free range, etc.

Not a lot of evidence supports that those pesticides make any difference whatsoever.

Also, there are very few regulations as to what can qualify as organic or free range.

Still, *healthy* foods > Shakes

Yeah, I wasn't going to open up that can of worms here. Point was, real food is better than fake food.

gsmacleod - 2009-10-16 10:59 AM 6'2" - 175lbs right now.  I typically maintain about 170lbs when training regularly and aim to be somewhere under 170lbs on race day.

"ideal" race weight for me is probably about 10 lbs leaner, but I just don't have the desire to lose that ten lbs.

5'10", hover between 155-158 lbs. Since I started training 3 years ago, I lost 10lbs and have kept it off, while constantly building muscle....

5' 10" 164 as of this morning.  I hope to be 152 by May 1st.  I was 160 this summer then at the end of August I got shingles. OUCH!!!  I haven't done much exercise since.  I'm back at it tomorrow morning.

Male, 5'7" 165 as of this morning.  I was 150 before I quit smoking going on 8 months.  Would like to get back to at least 160 as I think this would be easier on my knees for running.

KathyG - 2009-10-16 3:28 PM Interesting that mostly men share height and weight and not as many women probably a society thing.

I find it also interesting women that are my height posting here on this thread my lean body mass is often more than what they weight.

I'm overweight and I know it.  Don't really feel like posting that on a public forum right now, especially when very few of the other posters are overweight.

Yah I didn't put mine down either as you obviously noticed. My body fat is good for a women my age. My number one off season goal right now is try to lean down and so far I've been doing pretty good. Being leaner and lighter is a way to get faster running and cycling.

5'8", 160.  The goal for the past 2 seasons has been to get down to 150.  I think I saw a 158 on the scale once.  Perhaps I should think about a diet.

5'6", 126, 20% fat.  I started out the season at 126 so no weight loss (which is fine) but I had around 23%-24% fat.  Tri-ing and especially running made me drop to 20% over a few months and required a ton more carbs. I'm curious to see what happens next year.

6'0", 135-140 lbs. Was topping off at around 163 lbs. back in '07. Basically I returned to my average weight from when I got married 19 years ago. If I look thin it's part training and part DNA.

I agree with an earlier poster, I could bench everyone on this thread so far but im definately overfat. 5'7 185. I wrestled at 145 but walking around weight was 155 or so and i was bare bones. currently shooting for 170 not trying to look like a tooth pick, ladies like big shoulders!

5'8" 178, down from 185 2 months ago, and 200 4 years ago.

I plan on getting to 160-165 by March, I have a deal with my wife that I can't lose my chest when I went into tri's.  165 is a bit heavy for 5'8" but I have some more upper body mass.

I do find it depressing that I'm one of the fatter people on this board; I'm one of the skinniest guys at work and at home, this culture has just gone crazy with obesity.  Just more motivation.

I think some of the comments were spot on and I get in all sorts of arguments that todays 'acceptance of obesity' is a good thing.  While picking on anyone isn't a good thing, picking on the fat kid at school meant there were no fat kids at my school (circa 1986).
