Master 1480 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Sorry we didn't stick around after the awards - I was starting to not feel all that well and my drugs were in my truck, so we headed out. Scott - you said you needed, what, 10 minutes off my goal time? Well, just for you - 3:06:24 ... about 13.5 minutes better than my goal time. Everyone else did awesome! I was pulling up the rear, but even still, pretty pleased with my time. Fun meeting everyone! Cindy - I'm looking forward to the pictures you'll be posting! |

Veteran 160 Oak Park, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Hi all! It was great meeting all of you! The PP OLY Challenge definitely took the edge of nervousness off my first Olympic. Now I'm anxiously awaiting the official results, but I'm pretty sure the PP Posse kicked some major tail (especially our fearless leader Schmize...fall and all!). Already looking forward to next year... |

Champion 6993 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge well that would be fun. Can those who were not on a team get a team by then? It was a cool race. It was much better than my first tri. Edited by chirunner134 2006-08-20 7:38 PM |

Expert 1148 NW Suburbs, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Yes, I absolutely had a blast, too! It was great to meet everyone and also put the faces to the names (or the sign-on names). I think P3 may have taken this, but lets wait until its official Looking forward to reading all of the race reports, too!! Laura (startingtotri) - I knew you could do it, next oly you are going to break the 3:00:00 barrier. Jsmitchicago - Very nice race, too. I had a feeling you were going to go lower than predicted as well. Looking forward to next year! |

Champion 6993 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge funny. my speeds in everthing is much faster. over 14 mph on my bike. except transition times were slower but I felt like I was moving faster mostly. oh well. The transistion area being so big does not help either. still these results make me very excited. |

Crystal Lake, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Scott's better at numbers than me and I don't have the sheet with me with bib numbers or know the last names to look up everyone's times. Maybe everyone could post their numbers to help make it a little easier? I'll start. Post them like they are in the results. Swim/T1/Bike/T2/Run Overall. 32:51 / 1:26 / 1:19:30 / 1:05 / 51:47 / 2:46:38 What a great weekend. Thanks to everyone. And I wouldn't go to far with the "P3 did better" thinking. I tip my cap to Schmize for taking it in our mano y mano challenge but there seems to be some accusations of widespread sandbagging that need to be investigated. Results will not be official until these investigation is complete and the results of the B Sample are back! (look at those rockin' transitions times! And that includes sitting to put on socks in T2. Now all I have to do is work on the other 3 parts of the tri!)

Master 1480 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Very nice times, John! And really, if there were a race made up of just transitions, you'd totally rock it. My times: 37:51 / 2:29 / 1:26:59 / 1:47 / 57:20 for a grand total of 3:06:24 |

Champion 6993 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge here is the results of the lonely spirit rogue. If we only had 1 more could have it kinda interesting. 843 Todd Heideman 33:51 7:57 50:52 3:27 38:48 2:14:53 no that is not a typo. In 3 weeks of swimming I went from 56:00 swim to 33:51. oh yeah we had a party going on in T1. It was alot of fun. |

Extreme Veteran 499 Racine WI | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge That was an absolute blast. It was great fun meeting everyone and spending time with you all. The "challenge" looks like it is going to be awefully close....I think there was some serious sandbagging going on with the predictions (geez Schmize.......even with your off road excursion you were smokin'). Congtrats to everyone though, looks like everyone had a great race! Here are my official times: Swim 29:04 / T1 3:13 / Bike 1:15:29 / T2 2:18 / Run 51:22 / Overall 2:41:23 I look forward to next years PP Challenge |

Veteran 183 Buffalo Grove, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Well even though I didn't end up actually meeting any of you I still had a blast at the race. I ended up getting there kinda late and had just enough time to get my stuff to transition and get my wetsuit on before they started kicking us out of the transition. Whew! I felt so rushed. So I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you all. I was really looking forward to it. But there's always next years competition right. So, for the Posse, here are my times. Not the best race ever but I hope I helped. I kept getting off track on the swim cause I had a hard time telling if I was going the right way. sheesh. 32:03 3:54 1:17:39 3:25 50:24 2:47:23 |

Yeah, I should have called you to see if you wanted to meet up with us at the coffee shop but, like I said, I was out of it. But at least this time we talked on the phone. Another race or two and we may actually meet!

Veteran 160 Oak Park, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Yay! Results are up! Not bad for my first OLY, but I have a lot of work to do in the year ahead. Makes me want to go train right now (of course I'm sure that feeling will go away in a day or two!). Here's the official times: 33:15/3:17/1:24:22/1:56/1:00:22 = 3:03:11 Sheesh. What's up with that first transition time?!

Expert 1148 NW Suburbs, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge My times were: 25:30/1:23/1:12:22/1:16/52:12 = 2:32:41 (Extremely happy with this!!!) I took the liberty to add up the missing times, and the final results show that the PP Posse is the Winner (not Wiener). Wieners: 14:19:33 Posse: 14:11:02 It was extremely close, and the Posse definitely had the most sandbaggers, in that jsmitchicago, startingtotri, and myself all beat our predicted times by 8+ minutes. That made up the 25 minute differential that we had at dinner. I don't have the predicted times from dinner, so maybe we should just keep it at the straight up?? And you guys can clean our bikes, send our $100 checks in the mail, change your sig lines, buy us new shoes, and the other 4 or 5 things we agreed upon. Hangloose - great idea for the competition as I think everyone enjoyed the extra-curricular action!!!! |

Crystal Lake, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Bite me. And I mean that in the nicest way. First of all, you're a bunch of sandbaggers. And I mean that in the nicest way. Second, if the point of the challenge was to actually win or lose, MAYBE you could make a case for it. However, the point of the challenge was motivation and I think everyone was helped by that and had more fun because of it. If you want to claim some kind of made up victory (waving hands in air) by some rules you pulled out of thin air AFTER you had a chance to review the times then feel free. As I recall, you picked the teams based on times from a bunch of sandbaggers, so how do we know you didn't rig the teams in the first place? And I mean that in the nicest way. Seriously though, if you guys beat us by about 8-9 minutes, considering that I lost to you by about 12-13 then I shoulder this loss completely on my own. The rest of my team was outstanding! The Wieners stood tall and proud yesterday with our heads held high!

Champion 6993 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Well my idea since it is a guess on who should be on what team and what the "captains" thought people would finish at is to take which ever would be closest like total time or missed from predicted time. That is jsut me. Personally the posse seemed to have the upper hand only because they did not talk as much trash. the old saying if you know your good you do not have to brag to everyone that your good. I do have to give the weiners the best team spirit. ITs captain wering the weiner shirt is just too good. |

Elite 2468 Racine, WI | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge still struggling with uploading the pics.... My times: Bib # 571/ Swim 30:49/T1 2:24/Bike 1:15:01/T2 1:57/Run 56:57/ Overall 2:47:05 Which is an overall time of only 5 seconds off my original prediction. Which shows who's sandbagging and who isn't Maybe next year the Posse could be the Pleasant Prairie Sandbaggers? Like our team leader, I mean that in the nicest way. Of course.
