I haven't started to pack yet As we "speak" my niece is on her way here from Dallas. I'll pick her (and DH) up at the airport (he works there) and we'll tour Santa Fe for a little while. Then we'll head home so we can pack, drop off the dogs, go to a birthday party (oh crap I need to bake a cake), pick up a trailer and load the car. whew! Headed out at 0700 tomorrow! |

After Galveston I will be firing my coach. Just not the best fit for me. I don't need anyone pushing me to do more volume, I need someone telling me to back off some before I get hurt Sounds like the best decision for you. |

If you continue to use a coach, pick carefully. what works for one doesn't always work for another, Yada, Yada, Yada. |

I really like your bib #, too, BTW. I'm totally an odd numbers kind of gal, with special preferences for 5s and 7s, but any odd number, really. So exciting! |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED ponderingfox - 2013-03-26 11:22 PM I set a 200y (broken at 50s for 10 sec) PR tonight. Previously it was 3:00. At first I heard 3:17 when I got out of the pool and was bummed. But I forgot to subtract the :30 of rest. Yay for a 2:47! (Even if a broken 200 isn't quite the same as a straight 200, I'm claiming it). Super dooper!! You are such a speedy fellow, in and out of the water! |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED jobaxas - 2013-03-27 4:22 AM Hey Manatees - particularly running ones. Anyone got an opinion or experience with chi running...? No way I'm asking that on tri talk. Not that I am one of the running gurus here, but I did take a Chi running class at a tri expo three years ago as well as a Pose running class last year. My 2 cents is that it could have some merit and there are countless stories of folks it has really worked for, but with just taking the one class it was difficult to change my style. A friend lent me his Chi book, but I confess I haven't looked at it too much. Perhaps multiple classes or having the DVD or some videos to watch would help with the drills/positioning, etc. During the Chi class I could really feel the relief on my joints from engaging in the Chi style and could totally 'get' the principle and the benefit of this style of running, but as I said without some sort of guidance I wasn't able to keep it going on my own. Yeah, I would definitely not continue to pay for something if you are concerned for your safety. Additionally, you should be able to have open communication with your coach anyway. Everything doesn't work for everyone and he should be monitoring your progress and adapting the plan to give you maximum benefit. |

We might be! It's the same thing in my house (except for only one kiddo). The only thing I'm ok with buying once we arrive is diapers, because it's such a pain to lug a week's worth of diapers with you. |
