I think so. Let's just hope there is a tracking issue, and she is plugging along just fine. |

Master 2501 | Subject: RE: Swbkrun mentor group - Closed Feeling sick to my stomach. SO GLAD JULIA IS OK!!!! My daughter (whose 11th bday is today, happy bday, sweetie!), her 5th-grade class spent the morning tracking their 4th-grade teacher who ran. And then their current teacher had to explain to them about the explosions... and, thankfully, that their teacher who ran was OK. How horrible for the kids to experience that range of emotions. I've seen a few pics but can't bring myself to turn on the TV. It is so sad and sickening. Thankful that everyone I knew there is OK, a small victory in the day. Julia, looking forward to hearing from you!! I know you had a flight home today, not sure if you'll make it. Sending virtual hugs to you and to everyone else as well!! |

Expert 1038 Noosa | Subject: RE: Swbkrun mentor group - Closed So glad Julia is ok, I was shocked to see what happened when I turned the TV on this morning. I've had some experience with bombs in the UK as a child and as a student in London and it always makes my blood boil to think people can do something like that to other human beings. |

Just made it home safe and sound. Sorry to cause worry. I pulled the plug at mile 16 (spiraling fast with too far to go), and my bus was just approaching the medical tent when the bombs went off. So I was close enough to know something serious was going on but far enough away that I didn't know how serious until I got back to the hotel and saw the news coverage. It's still sinking in. I rushed to the airport, not knowing whether my plane would be grounded. Thankfully, we made it out. I'm relieved to be home, and my heart aches for those who did not make it home tonight. |

Thanks for writing, Julia. My heart is so heavy for you on so many levels. I'm so glad you made it home to your family last night, but man, what a long and grueling day. We are all here for you for whatever you want to share, or not. Lots of love going out to you and everyone today. Shea went off to school wearing a Portland Marathon race shirt (poor thing can't fit her Hot Chocolate 15K sweatshirt over her cast), and I'm sure her Girls on the Run will be an emotional one today. Seeing runners out there already, they all seem extra-special today. Looking forward to joining them. GROUP HUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Veteran 291 | Subject: RE: Swbkrun mentor group - Closed Glad to hear your ok Julia.I had a few friends that normally run in that race and thank God everyone is ok. My heart goes out to all those families that have been devastated by another senseless act of violence. My daughter lives in Boston now and had sent me a picture from her phone from the exact place where the first bomb went off right behind the flags. If she had hung around 10 more minutes.. ....well I don't even want to think about it. Very grateful she is fine, and she actually received word that she got her dream job today. It is amazing how life changes on a dime in many ways. OK off to run....I am way off on my training and have a 1/2 mary this weekend....going to need to suck it up. Oh and also.....someone stole my new Merrill's out of the locker room.....I loved those shoes...time to get a new pair before the race need to break them in a little.
