Chatham Ontario | Subject: RE: TAN#200: BicenTANial Bliss! Happy Tuesday. So any history buffs out there? I went scuba diving on the weekend and found a 162 year old plate from a steamship on the weekend and it is mostly intact. It has a small chip out of it and most likely was tossed over as trash for it. Steamship company E.B. & S Ward Steam ship lines. Sounds a tad cool until you find out that Eber Ward was Detroit's First Millionaire and accumulated a fortune worth 22 million dollars in the mid 1800s. From Steam Ships they managed to get into lumber mills and Steel Mills fully responsible for the first Bessemer pouring of Steel in North America. I could go on an on about the history I was able to learn from this. The family has a rich history. 19 years of scuba diving and by far the coolest thing I have found. Front of plate has a steam ship on it and the back has the manufacture and importer. info. Plate was made in 1851 |

My family had a chocolate factory and the plates they made on which you displayed the chocolates are worth a fortune now. |

I didn't like my employer yet this is how I'm feeling? I don't get it.... |

I don't get it.... unfortunately i know the feeling all too well. my shrink's advice for those kind of days is - they will happen, don't fight it. BUT don't let it consume you. say "i will just lay here until noon, then i have to get out of bed, get dressed, and walk the dogs/cook lunch/read the paper" pick something small and manageable, do it, and that getting up and accomplishing something will help motivate you to do more. don't overwhelm yourself with a huge list of crap to do or you'll just stay in bed. good luck. |

On an extended basis are there volunteer opportunities around ? Animal shelters walking dogs or local baseball league kind of things. A sense of purpose I find helps. |

Believe me, I know what you're going through, and it's not fun. As Meh said, don't fight it - but don't wallow. Give yourself something that you CAN handle getting done today, and set a time for when you're going to start. |

I didn't like my employer yet this is how I'm feeling? I don't get it.... Is this something you deal with or just feeling the blahs? I have had my lazy days, and stressful days I wanted to sleep all day (today may be one), and even days I feel "depressed" (even though I don't think it's the same thing as real depression)... I guess I don't have any answers, just babbling. Just getting out and doing an easy jog with an Ipod usually helps a little. Or knocking of even a couple items on your to do list, no matter how small, lightens my spirit knowing I accomplished something. |

You know this time will soon pass too Free time whether it is forced or chosen is such a special gift. This coming from a girl who had forced rest for a year :-( I am trying sooo hard to make a ridiculous come back from being down for 18 months, may be the hardest thing ever but I am determined that this surgery is not going to beat me. I can't even run 3 miles without stopping at this point...ugh
